Kalyani Roy (born 14 January 1967) is an Indian politician, representing Bharatiya Janata Party and serving as the present Government Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA of Teliamura constituency since March, 2018. She is the first woman to hold the office of Government Chief Whip in the state of Tripura, India. [1]
Tripura is a state in northeastern India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491 km2 (4,051 sq mi); and the seventh-least populous state with a population of 3.67 million. Manik Sarkar is an Indian communist politician who served as the Chief Minister of Tripura from March 1998 to March 2018. He is a Politburo member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In March 2008, he was sworn in as leader of Left Front, the Tripura coalition government. In assembly elections held in 2013, he became the chief minister for the fourth consecutive time. He served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tripura Legislative Assembly from 2018 to 2023. NDTV's article in 2018, proclaimed that back then, he was the poorest chief minister in India with bank balance of Rs. 2000.

Jishnu Dev Varma, is an Indian politician serving as the 3rd and current Governor of Telangana since 31 July 2024. He is from Tripura, and has previously served as the 2nd Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura from 2018 to 2023. He served as the MLA of Charilam from 2018 till 2023. He was the head of the Badminton Association of India, and is currently the president of its Tripura unit.
