Souten is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Saawan Kumar Tak, starring Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Prem Chopra and Pran. It was written by Kamleshwar, with music by Usha Khanna. The song "Shayad Meri Shaadi" sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar became especially memorable. Khanna's chemistry with Munim also proved popular. The film was remade in Kannada as Krishna Nee Begane Baro and in Telugu as Tene Manasulu. Souten was a silver jubilee hit on its release.

Partha Sarathi Gupta was an Indian professor of British and European history at Delhi University and president of the Indian History Congress. He was firstborn son of Ashoka Gupta and Saibal Gupta, an Indian Civil Services officer in Bengal state of British India. His childhood memory of watching Mahatma Gandhi's walk through riot-torn Noakhali in 1946 where his mother joined in the walk had a long-lasting impact. He was awarded Eshan scholarship for the highest marks in West Bengal in Presidency College, Calcutta. Fellow students included Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences winner Amartya Sen and member of planning commission Sukhamoy Chakravarty in 1953.

Partha Mukherjee (Hindi: पार्थ मुखर्जी; Bengali: পার্থ মুখার্জী) was an Indian actor who worked in Bengali cinema. mainly as supporting actor. He has worked in movies like Dhanyee Meye, Agnishwar, Amar Prithivi, Baag Bandi Khela. He is particularly known for his boy-next-door looks. He works with actors like Sabitri Chatterjee, Ranjit Mallick, Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chatterjee, Santu Mukhopadhyay and Dipankar Dey etc. Beside acting on films, he is also a passionate singer.

Ayoshi Talukdar is an Indian actress, who primarily works in Bengali cinema industry. In 2021, she is going to make her Bollywood debut with the film Uma, which is directed by Tathagata Singha.
