Kamal Abeysinghe is a Sri Lankan banker and a social entrepreneur. He is the founder and current chairman of EDEX. [1]

Abeysinghe has served as the chairman of EDEX since its inception in 2004. EDEX was initiated as a social project to organize education exhibitions to provide career guidance for students who completed their A/L examinations. Since 2004 it has held exhibitions annually in Colombo and Kandy becoming the largest education fair in Sri Lanka. [2]

During Abeysinghe's tenure as the chairman of EDEX, he has initiated several social development projects such as the Live your Dream project in 2012 [3] [4] which aims at empowering Sri Lankan youth and has carried out several school development projects in many parts of the country.

Educated at Royal College Colombo, he had worked at Sampath Bank for over two decades moving into its senior management where he had served as its head of compliance. [5] He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and a former treasurer of the Royal College Union. [6]

Asoka Milinda Moragoda is a Sri Lankan politician and businessman. He is the current Sri Lankan High Commissioner Designate to India and, former Cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament representing the Colombo District from 2001 to 2010, who served as the Minister of Justice and Law Reform (2009-2010), Minister of Tourism (2007–2009); Minister for Economic Reform, Science and Technology and Deputy Minister for Plan Implementation and Development (2002–2004). EDEX Expo is an annual career fair and exhibition in Sri Lanka which is the flagship event of EDEX. Over the years it has become the primary career fair in the country and a national event with the primary exhibition taking place at BMICH, Colombo followed by a secondary exhibition taking place at Kandy a few weeks later. It is organized by the Royal College Union (RCU) in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka.

Matthew Duncan Abeysinghe, OLY is a competitive swimmer who has represented Sri Lanka at numerous international competitions, including the 2016 and 2020 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo respectively. Abeysinghe trained under his coach and father, Manoj Abeysinghe, with Killer Whale Aquatics, until his departure for higher education, where he resumed his training at Ohio State University in the US. At the domestic level, Abeysinghe holds numerous national records, has been national champion several times, and is a member of the Killer Whale Aquatic Club, under his coach and father, Manoj Abeysinghe. At the 2017 Youth Commonwealth Games in Nassau, Bahamas, Abeysinghe won two silver medals in the 50m and the 100m Freetyle, becoming the only Sri Lankan in swimming to achieve this feat.
