Kameshwar Poolla is the Cadence Design Systems Distinguished Professor, in Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences, [1] and Department of Mechanical Engineering [2] at University of California, Berkeley. He received his B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1980 and his Ph.D. from the Center for Mathematical System Theory, University of Florida, Gainesville in 1984.
From 1984 to 1991, he was a member of the faculty at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He moved the University of California, Berkeley in 1991, and is currently Professor in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Poolla's current research interests include many aspects of future energy systems including economics, security, and commercialization. [3]

Poolla was awarded the 1984 Outstanding Dissertation Award by the University of Florida; the 1988 NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award; the 1993 Hugo Schuck Best Paper Prize; the 1994 Donald P. Eckman Award; a 1997 JSPS Fellowship; the 1997 Distinguished Teaching Award from the University of California, Berkeley; [10] and the 2004 [11] and 2007 [12] IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing Best Paper Prizes; and the 2009 IEEE CSS Transition to Practice Award. SPICE is a general-purpose, open-source analog electronic circuit simulator. It is a program used in integrated circuit and board-level design to check the integrity of circuit designs and to predict circuit behavior.
Eli Yablonovitch is an American physicist and engineer who, along with Sajeev John, founded the field of photonic crystals in 1987. He and his team were the first to create a 3-dimensional structure that exhibited a full photonic bandgap, which has been named Yablonovite. In addition to pioneering photonic crystals, he was the first to recognize that a strained quantum-well laser has a significantly reduced threshold current compared to its unstrained counterpart. This is now employed in the majority of semiconductor lasers fabricated throughout the world. His seminal paper reporting inhibited spontaneous emission in photonic crystals is among the most highly cited papers in physics and engineering.

Massoud Pedram is an Iranian American computer engineer noted for his research in green computing, energy storage systems, low-power electronics and design, electronic design automation and quantum computing. In the early 1990s, Pedram pioneered an approach to designing VLSI circuits that considered physical effects during logic synthesis. He named this approach layout-driven logic synthesis, which was subsequently called physical synthesis and incorporated into the standard EDA design flows. Pedram's early work on this subject became a significant prior art reference in a litigation between Synopsys Inc. and Magma Design Automation.
Chittoor V. Ramamoorthy (1926–2016) was an Indian-American computer scientist, computer engineer and educator whose work had many implications in engineering, computer science, and software engineering. Together with Raymond T. Yeh, he is given credit for the early establishment of the discipline of software engineering. He had a large following worldwide with whom he actively collaborated until the last few months of his life. Advances made during these collaborations included the exploration of transdisciplinary methods and the development of a science to support future complex systems design.

Yendluri Shanthi Pavan is an Indian electrical engineer and a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is known for his studies on mixed signal VLSI circuits and is an elected fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He is also a fellow of IEEE. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 2012.

Sundeep Rangan is an associate professor at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, where he also serves as the director of NYU Wireless. He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 for contributions to orthogonal frequency division multiple access cellular communication systems. Dr. Rangan received his B.A.Sc. at the University of Waterloo, Canada and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, all in Electrical Engineering. He has held postdoctoral appointments at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Bell Labs. In 2000, he co-founded Flarion Technologies, a spin off of Bell Labs, that developed Flash OFDM, the first cellular OFDM data system and precursor to 4G cellular systems including LTE and WiMAX. In 2006, Flarion was acquired by Qualcomm Technologies. Dr. Rangan was a Director of Engineering at Qualcomm involved in OFDM infrastructure products. He joined the ECE department at NYU Tandon in 2010. His research interests are in wireless communications, signal processing, information theory and control theory.
Eugene Wong is a Chinese-American computer scientist and mathematician. Wong's career has spanned academia, university administration, government and the private sector. Together with Michael Stonebraker and a group of scientists at IBM, Wong is credited with pioneering database research in the 1970s from which software developed by IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle descends. Wong retired in 1994, since then holding the title of Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at University of California, Berkeley.
