Kimchi Family is a 2011 South Korean television series,starring Song Il-kook,Park Jin-hee,Lee Min-young and Choi Jae-sung. Song plays a gangster who turns over a new leaf and begins working at a kimchi restaurant run by two sisters. The series aired on jTBC from December 7,2011 to February 23,2012 on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 20:45 (KST) for 24 episodes.
The Kim family,officially the Mount Paektu bloodline (Korean: 백두혈통),named for Paektu Mountain,in the ideological discourse of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK),and often referred to as the Kim dynasty after the Cold War's end,is a three-generation lineage of North Korean leadership,descending from the country's founder and first leader,Kim Il Sung. Kim Il Sung came to rule the north in 1948,after the end of Japanese rule split the region in 1945. Following his death in 1994,Kim Il Sung's role as supreme leader was passed on to his son Kim Jong Il,and then to his grandson Kim Jong Un. All three leaders have served as leaders of the WPK and served as North Korea's supreme leaders since the state's establishment in 1948.
Kang Shin-il is a South Korean actor. Kang graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in electronic engineering,but he soon put aside his studies and spent most of his time in Daehangno,Seoul's theater district,where he formed a troupe called Testimony that performed at smaller venues. In 1985,he made his acting debut in Chilsu and Mansu,and soon gained fame as a stage actor in plays such as Kimchigook Goes Crazy and Chronicles of Han. He appeared onscreen for the first time in the 1988 film adaptation of Chilsu and Mansu and became a prolific supporting actor in Korean cinema and television,while continuing to do theater. In 2007,Kang was diagnosed with liver cancer,but after recovering from surgery,he resumed his acting career.
Alex Kam,also known by his Korean name KamKang-chan (Korean: 감강찬) is a South Korean figure skater. He has represented South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics. As a single skater,he competed in the free skate at the 2012 Four Continents Championships. In 2015,he switched to pair skating,teaming up with Kim Kyu-eun in 2016.
During the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang,the flag bearers of 92 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) arrived into Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium on February 25. The flag bearers from each participating country entered the stadium informally in single file,and behind them marched all the athletes. The flags of each country were not necessarily carried by the same flag bearer as in the opening ceremony. The flag-bearers entered in ganada order of the Korean alphabet.

The 2013 Hwaebul Cup was the inaugural edition of the Hwaebul Cup football competition celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 15 and 28 August 2013,with all matches played at the Kim Il-sung Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases,a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals,and a single-game final.
Parliamentary elections were held in North Korea on 10 March 2019 to elect the members of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly. The elections were announced on 6 January 2019. With only one candidate on the ballot in each constituency,outside observers described it as a show election. 687 candidates for the DPRK deputies to the SPA were elected. Kim Jong Un did not stand for election,marking the first time that a North Korean leader did not participate as a candidate.
