Cinema of India consists of films produced in India. Cinema is immensely popular in India: every year, more than 1800 films are produced collectively in the various languages of India. Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar-Cuttack and Guwahati are the major centres of film production in India. As of 2018, India ranked first in terms of annual film output. In 2015, India had a total box office gross of US$2.1 billion, the third largest in the world. The overall revenue of Indian cinema reached US$2.7 billion in 2019.

Kathiawar is a peninsula, near the far north of India's west coast, of about 61,000 km2 (23,500 sq mi) bordering the Arabian Sea. In the northeast, it is connected to the rest of Gujarat and borders on the low, fertile hinterland of Ahmedabad. Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi is an Indian Hindi romantic comedy film, starring Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vir Das, Payal Ghosh and Prem Chopra. This film is directed by Sanjay Chhel and produced by Bharat Patel of Bholenath Movies. Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal will be seen together for the first time in 20 years. The film which began production in 2014, and was released on 15 September 2017.

Jesal Toral is a 1971 Indian Gujarati devotional film written and directed by Ravindra Dave. It proved to be one of the biggest hits of Gujarati cinema and ran for 25 weeks in theatres.
Liludi Dharati is a 1957 Gujarati novel by Chunilal Madia. Though it was written is two parts, its plot is extended with inheritors in another separate novel Shevalna Shatdal (1960).

Kashino Dikro is a 1979 Indian Gujarati film directed by Kanti Madia. Being the first and the only film of Madia, it starred Rajiv, Ragini, Rita Bhaduri, and Pranlal Kharsani. The film was produced by Cine India International. Adapted from Vinodini Nilkanth's short story Dariyav Dil, film's script and dialogues were written by Prabodh Joshi. Barun Mukherji was a cinematographer.
