Karge meri is a novel by Estonian author August Gailit. It was first published in 1938. [1]
In 1981 the novel was adapted to a film of the same name, directed by Arvo Kruusement and starring Merle Talvik, Tõnu Kark, Mikk Mikiver, Ita Ever, Raine Loo, Rein Aren, Aarne Üksküla, Lembit Ulfsak, Ines Aru, Margus Oopkaup, Salme Reek, Silvia Laidla and Arvi Hallik. [1]
Altaf Fatima was a Pakistani Urdu novelist, short story writer, and teacher. Altaf Fatima was born in Lucknow, she moved to Lahore during the Partition, earning MA and BEd from the University of Punjab. Her novel Dastak Na Do is regarded as one of the defining works in the Urdu language. An adaptation was presented on Pakistan television and an abridged translation was serialised by the Karachi monthly, Herald. In 2018, Fatima received the KLF Urdu Literature award at the 9th Karachi Literature Festival for her book, Deed Wadeed. She died on 29 November 2018.
Vishnu Prabhakar was a Hindi writer. He had several short stories, novels, plays and travelogues to his credit. Prabhakar's works have elements of patriotism, nationalism and messages of social upliftment. He was the First Sahitya Academy Award winner from Haryana.

Wilhelm Karges (1613/14–1699), was a German organist and composer in the North German organ tradition. Much of Karges' life was spent in and around Berlin, where he was born, worked, and died. Karges came into contact with Sweelinck's student, Andreas Düben, through his travels in North Germany and the Low Countries, and became his assistant at the German Church in Stockholm. In January 1646 he was appointed chamber musician and composer at the court of the Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg in Berlin, and subsequently became organist at the cathedral there. His eyesight gradually deteriorated, and by the 1680s he had several assistants and had been relieved of many of his responsibilities. Still, his organ playing was apparently still of such high quality that in 1683 his salary was nearly doubled. Six of Karges' pieces are known to have survived, all for organ.

It was also among the five nominated films at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Ulfsak died on 22 March 2017, at the age of 69.
Margus Oopkaup is an Estonian stage, film and television actor and playwright who was engaged at the Endla Theatre from 1982 to 2000. In 1983, he was awarded the Best Young Actor award for his performance in the film Nipernaadi.
