Karl Parker (born 2 October 1978) is an Australian former lightweight rower who represented at World Championships in both sculling and sweep-oared boats. He was an U23 Australian national and world champion, and won a bronze medal at the 2000 World Rowing Championships.
Raised in Penrith, New South Wales Parker's senior rowing was from the Nepean Rowing Club.
Parker first rowed at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships in 2002 in a New South Wales lightweight four which contested the Penrith Cup. [1] He rowed in again in the lightweight four for New South Wales in 2004. [2]
In 1999 in Nepean colours he won the national U23 lightweight sculling title at the Australian Rowing Championships. [3]
Parker made his first Australian representative appearance in 1995 in the stroke seat of a quad scull which competed at the 1995 Nations Cup in Groningen and finished in eight place. [4] That same crew went to the 1995 Junior World Rowing Championships in Poznan where the entire Australian squad was affected by food poisoning at the regatta accommodation. That crew finished in thirteenth place. [5] In 1995 he was selected in an Australian double-scull which contested a junior Trans-Tasman series against New Zealand crews. [6] In 1996 he again contested the Trans Tasman junior challenge series in Sydney. [7]
In 1997 he was selected with Glen Loftus to row Australia's lightweight double scull at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Milan where they raced to a silver medal. [4] He made his Australian senior representative debut in 1999 in a lightweight single scull at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne. [4] That year he was also Australia's lightweight single sculler at the U23 World Championships in Hamburg where he won a gold medal and an U23 world championship title. [4] He then was Australia's lightweight single sculling entrant at the 1999 World Rowing Championships in St Catharines, Canada where he missed the A final and rowed to an overall seventh place finish. In 2000 Parker moved into selection contention in sweep-oared boats. He was in the five seat of the Australian men's lightweight eight when they won gold at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne [4] and the held his seat for the 2000 World Rowing Championships in Zagreb where the eight rowed to a bronze medal. [4]
Parker rowed on in both boat classes in 2001. With Dan Stewart he rowed a lightweight double scull to a fourth placing at the World Rowing Cup IV in Munich. They took that same boat to the 2001 World Rowing Championships in Munich where they finished in overall seventh place. Parker doubled up in the lightweight eight and was again seated at five in their sixth place finish. Those championships marked Parker's last Australian representative outing. [4]

Anthony John Edwards is an Australian former lightweight rower. He is a five time Olympian, triple Olympic medallist, a world champion and a six-time Australian national champion. He represented Australia at the premier world regattas consistently over a twenty-year period from 1993 to 2012.
Michael McBryde is an Australian former lightweight rower. He was a national champion, an U23 World Champion and a medallist at senior World Championships.
Simon Burgess is an Australian national champion, two-time World Champion, three-time Olympian and dual Olympic silver medal-winning lightweight rower. He represented Australia ten times at World Rowing Championships between 1990 and 2002. He won world and national championships in both sculls and in sweep-oared boat classes during an eighteen-year elite level career.
Glen Loftus is an Australian former lightweight rower. He was a national champion, an U23 world champion and an Olympic silver medalist. In competitive retirement he was a coach and a rowing administrator in Western Australia.
Paul Reedy is an Australian former rower. He is a dual Olympian, an Olympic and Commonwealth Games silver medalist who competed over a seventeen-year period at the elite level. He was a fourteen-time Australian national champion across both sculling and sweep-oared boats and then coached six Australian crews to national championship titles. He later coached at the London Rowing Club and was appointed as British national Head Coach from 2009. He took Great Britain's lightweight women's sculling crews to Olympic and World Championship gold medals in 2012 and 2016.
Samuel Beltz is an Australian former lightweight rower. He is a 16-time national champion, a world champion and dual Olympian. He competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and represented Australia at the premier world class regattas over a fifteen-year period from 1999 to 2014.
Roderick Chisholm is a British lightweight class former rower who represented both Great Britain and Australia at world championships. He is an Australian national champion, a World Champion and a dual Olympian who competed at the world class level in both sculls and in sweep-oared boats.
Thomas Gibson is an Australian lightweight rower. He is a twelve-time Australian national champion, a world champion and a dual Olympian.
Haimish John Karrasch is an Australian former rower. He was a nine-time Queensland state representative, an eight-time Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and won a silver medal at the 1999 World Rowing Championships.

Jennifer Luff is an Australian former representative rower. In a nine year career at the elite level between 1988 and 1996 she won sixteen Australian national titles, raced for Australia at five World Rowing Championships and competed at the 1992 and the 1996 Summer Olympics. In 1990 and 1992 she won the full set of all three open women's sculling boat titles at the Australian Rowing Championships and mirrored that feat in 1995 when she won all three possible open women's titles in sweep-oared boats.
Paul Francis Rowe was an Australian representative rower and elite level rowing coach. He was an eight-time Australian national champion in both sweep oared and sculling boats across both lightweight and open divisions. He was Australia's lightweight sculling representative at the 1975 World Rowing Championships. He coached scullers and crews to three Australia national title wins and to world championships and to Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Sean Murphy is an Australian representative lightweight rower. He is a 2018 Australian national champion; won bronze medals at senior and U/23 World Championships as a lightweight sculler; and in 2019 won two gold medals in lightweight sculling at Rowing World Cups in the international representative season.
