Jorge Hank Rhon is a Mexican businessman and owner of Mexico's largest sports betting company,Grupo Caliente. He served from December 2004 to February 2007 as the president of the municipality of Tijuana. He is the son of former Mexico City mayor Carlos Hank González and Guadalupe Rhon. The Hank family has alleged links to drug trafficking. He has been accused of money laundering,murder,arrested for possession of unlicensed arms and dealing in the trade of exotic animals.

Los Tucanes De Tijuana are a Mexican norteño band led by Mario Quintero Lara. The band was founded in Tijuana,Baja California in 1987. They,along with Los Tigres del Norte,were pioneers in playing their music in a rougher manner as opposed to the traditional norteño music of northeastern Mexico,subsequently influencing many other norteño artists from Mexico’s pacific states and giving that region of the country its signature norteño sound. During their career,Los Tucanes de Tijuana have garnered several awards and recognitions,including a Latin Grammy in 2012 for the album 365 días,five Grammy Award nominations,nine Lo Nuestro Awards nominations and multiple BMI Awards for Quintero as a composer. They are the first norteño music band to obtain an international film award by winning the Un Certain Regard Angel Film award at the Monaco International Film Festival for their participation in the documentary Los ilegales. In 2008,the group received a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame.

FotoFilm Tijuana is a festival that takes place annually in Tijuana,Baja California,Mexico. It is a photography and film festival and had over 22,000 attendees in 2017. Held in July at the Tijuana Cultural Center,the event is a showcase for Mexican and international filmmakers,photographers and performers. The festival comprises competitive sections for short films,and includes feature films and documentary films.
Narcos:Mexico is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Chris Brancato,Carlo Bernard,and Doug Miro that premiered on Netflix on November 16,2018. It was originally intended to be the fourth season of the Netflix series Narcos,but it was ultimately developed as a companion series. It focuses on the development of Mexico's illegal drug trade,whereas the parent series centered on the establishment of Colombia's illegal drug trade. The series' second season premiered on February 13,2020. On October 28,2020,Netflix renewed the series for a third and final season but announced that actor Diego Luna would not be returning to reprise his role as Félix Gallardo. The third and final season premiered on November 5,2021.

Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda is a Mexican lawyer,politician,and member of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) political party,currently serving as Governor of Baja California,she is the first woman as governor. She was formerly a Federal Representative for Baja California's 2nd electoral district in the LXIV Legislature in the Chamber of Deputies of the General Congress of the United Mexican States,which she fulfilled from 2018 to 2019,also the first woman as Mayor of Mexicali,from 2019 to 2021.
The murder of Mirelle Hernández,the result of a robbery and carjacking,happened on December 5,2021,in Tijuana,Baja California,Mexico. She was a makeup artist for film and television and the niece of Juan Manuel Hernández Niebla who is part of the National Public Security Council in Tijuana.
Arturo González Cruz was a Mexican politician and businessman,recognized for his term as Municipal President of the XXIII City Council of Tijuana between 2019 and 2020. During his career,he held other positions such as professor at the CETYS School of Business and Administration,director of the Tijuana Chamber of Commerce,and national president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce,Services and Tourism.
