Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy is formed in the Indian state of Karnataka to promote Konkani language and literature. [1] This organisation is funded every year through the Budget of Karnataka Government.

This organisation conducts several events including Konkani Lokotsav, once every year. [2]

Joida is a town located in the Uttar Kannada district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The town is the headquarters of the eponymous taluk.

Tulu Nadu state movement

Tulu Nadu state movement is aimed at increasing Tulu Nadu's influence and political power through the formation of a separate Tulu Nadu state from Karnataka and Kerala. Tulu Nadu is a region on the south-western coast of India. It consists of the Dakshina Kannada and southern part of Udupi district up to Swarna River in Karnataka, and the northern parts of the Kasargod district up to the Chandragiri river in Kerala. The Chandragiri river is traditionally considered to be a boundary between Tulu Nadu and Kerala from the fourteenth century AD onwards. The first call for Tulu Nadu was made just after the Quit India Movement in 1942 by Srinivas Updhyaya Paniyadi, a banker and a press owner from Udupi. Mangalore is the largest and the chief city of Tulu Nadu. Tulu activists have been demanding a separate Tulu Nadu state since the late 2000s, considering language and culture as the basis for their demand.

Basti Vaman Madhav Shenoy is a noted Konkani activist popularly known as Vishwa Konkani Sardar and is the founder of World Konkani Centre in Shakthinagar, Mangalore.

Kanakumbi is a village in Belgaum district in Karnataka, India. It is situated on border of Satteri taluka, Goa. Near by cities are Mapusa 65 km, Panaji 71 km, Belagavi city 45 km.

World Konkani Centre

World Konkani Centre was founded by Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Prathistan at Konkani Gaon, Shakti Nagar, Mangalore, to serve as a nodal agency for the preservation and overall development of Konkani language, art and culture involving all the Konkani people the world over.

Canarese Konkani

Canarese Konkani is a minority language spoken by the Konkani people of Karnataka and in some parts of Kerala.

The Konkani language agitations were a series of political protests and demonstrations that were held by ethnic Goans in Goa, following the Annexation of Goa. The agitations involved several mass protests, riots, student and political movements in Goa, concerning the uncertain future and the official status of the Konkani language, prevailing at the time in the Union Territory of Goa and Damaon in the Indian Republic.

The All India Konkani Parishad is a national conference held in India. It is meant to support the Konkani people and Konkani language, and conducts various activities to achieve that goal, aided by local authorities

Goa State in India

Vasudev V. Shenoy

Vasudev Vaman Shenoy, better known as V.V.Shenoy, was a notable Educationist, Educational Counsellor, Journalist and a Social Activist. He was also a plants enthusiast and very popular for the Panchavati Terrace Gardens that he developed on the terrace of his house frequented by several eminent personalities over the time. He is the Founder Director of Students' Information & Guidance Bureau, an institution recognised for educational counselling. solving unemployment problems and for supporting and encouraging students to pursue their educational programs for further employment and choice of career. V.V.Shenoy died on 9 March 2015 due to medical complications.

Mahabaleshwar Sail Indian author (born 1943)

Mahabaleshwar Sail is an Indian author. He has been honoured with the Saraswati Samman, 2016 for his novel 'Hawthan' (हावटण).
