Kassim Al-Refai

Kassim Al-Refai (born May 6, 1967 in Ar Ramtha) is a Jordanian artist, specialising in the plastic arts.

Biography

He studied at Yarmouk University in Irbid and received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 1989. In 1994 he obtained his master's degree in Educational Management and Supervision at Yarmouk. [1]

Since 1985, Kassim has made many group and solo exhibitions in Jordan and his artwork is found in many of the museums and private institutions in Jordan. [1] In the late 1990s his art gained interest in the Netherlands and Belgium and in September 2007 he won first prize at the Art in Progress exhibition in Damme, Belgium. [1]

He is a member of the Jordanian Plastic Artist Association, Jordan Association of Fine Arts and the Arab Centre of Culture and Arts.

Abdel Hadi Al Gazzar (1925–1966) was an Egyptian painter. He occupies a unique position among the artists of his generation. The Jordanian Plastic Artist Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 based in Jordan, specialising in Plastic arts and is the first institution specializing in Fine Arts and the main representative of the Fine art movement in Jordan. And to join the membership is available to artists Jordanians and Arabs and foreigners residing in Jordan are entitled to apply for membership as far as they fulfill the requirements according to the statute of the association.

Khairy Hirzalla is a Jordanian painter, based in Amman. He works mainly in abstract art and expressionism.

He is also an architect, who graduated from the faculty of fine-arts, architecture department, of Helwan University. The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts is a major contemporary art museum located in Amman, Jordan. The Official inauguration of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts (JNGFA) was held under the patronage of the late King Hussein and Queen Noor Al Hussein and was Established in 1980 by the Royal Society of Fine Arts, the museum's permanent collection "comprises over 2000 works including paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs, installations, weavings, and ceramics by more than 800 artists from 59 countries mainly in Asia and Africa."
