Ashfield is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. It is in the English county of Nottinghamshire,East Midlands,to the north west of the city of Nottingham in the Erewash Valley along the border with neighbouring county Derbyshire.

South Wales East is an electoral region of the Senedd,consisting of eight constituencies. The region elects 12 members,eight directly elected constituency members and four additional members. The electoral region was first used in 1999,when the National Assembly for Wales was created.

Charles Butt Stanton was a British politician,who served as an Member of Parliament (MP) from 1915 to 1922. He entered Parliament by winning one of the two seats for Merthyr Tydfil at a by-election on 25 November 1915 caused by the death of Labour Party founder,Keir Hardie. After the two-member Merthyr Tydfil seat was divided into two single member seats,Stanton focused on the Aberdare division,which he won at the 1918 general election,but lost at the 1922 general election.

David John Rowlands is a Welsh politician,who was a Member of the Senedd (MS) for South Wales East from 2016 to 2021. Elected as an MS for the UK Independence Party (UKIP),Rowlands joined the Brexit Party in 2019. He later joined the Independent Alliance for Reform group in the Senedd in October 2020.
Dawn Alison Louise Bowden is a British Labour Party politician and trade unionist serving as Minister for Social Care since 2024. She previously served as Chief Whip of the Welsh Government from 2021 to 2023 and Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport from 2021 to 2024. Bowden has been the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney since 2016.
The 2021 Senedd election took place on Thursday 6 May 2021 to elect 60 members to the Senedd. It was the sixth devolved general election since the Senedd was established in 1999. The election was held alongside the Scottish Parliament election,English local elections,London Assembly and mayoral election and the Hartlepool by-election.
The 2017 Welsh local elections were held on 4 May 2017 to elect members of all 22 local authorities in Wales. This included the Isle of Anglesey,which was previously up for election in 2013 due to having its elections delayed for a year. Community council elections also took place on the same day. These local elections were held as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. Apart from Anglesey,the last elections were held in 2012. Normally these elections take place every four years,but the 2017 elections were postponed for a year in order to avoid clashing with the 2016 Welsh Assembly election,which itself had been postponed by a year to avoid clashing with the 2015 general election.
Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. Nigel Farage has served as the party's leader since June 2024 and Richard Tice has served as the party's deputy leader since July 2024. The Party currently has five Members of Parliament (MPs) in the House of Commons and one member of the London Assembly. Following Farage's resumption as leader during the 2024 general election,there was a sharp increase in support for the party. In the election it was the third largest party by popular vote,with 14.3% of the vote share. The party is structured as a limited company,with Farage as the majority shareholder with fifteen shares. Farage owns eight of these,giving him a controlling majority. The other shareholders are Tice,who holds five,and Chief Executive Paul Oakden and Party Treasurer Mehrtash A'Zami who each hold one share.
The 2017 Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council election took place on Thursday 4 May 2017 to elect the 33 members of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council in Wales. This was on the same day as other 2017 United Kingdom local elections. The Council shifted back from Labour to Independent control.
The 2022 Carmarthenshire County Council election took place on Thursday 5 May 2022 to elect 75 members to Carmarthenshire Council. On the same day,elections were held to the other 21 local authorities and to community councils in Wales as part of the 2022 Welsh local elections.
