Kate Elsworth is an Australian-born electronic dance music DJ, vocalist and songwriter based in London.

Biography

In 2009, she formed a dance band with her New York-based co-producer and business partner, DJ Exacta. [1] She has worked with other artists like Sonny Fodera and Dubfire. She has performed around the globe including nightclub gigs at Amnesia on Ibiza. [2]

Kate spent time in Ibiza, developing an ear for house music. In 2010, Elsworth began DJing, with headline parties at Ibiza. [2] In 2011, her singles released on Hed Kandi, a collaboration with DJ Exacta, "Empty Spaces" [3] and "Bow & Arrow". [4] In 2014, Elsworth teamed up with James Doman releasing their track "Stand Still" on Café Mambo, 20 Years of Ibiza Chillout. In 2016, Elsworth released two tracks with Defected on Sonny Fodera's album Frequently Flying. [5]

Kate joined forces with Nicolas Blistene, a French Deejay as well as a composer, originally known as one of the "Sucré Salé" duo early in 2017 forming the DJ duo Lunar Disco. They released their track 'Merveilleux' with Sucre Sale on the album "Voyeur Ibiza 2017". [6] In 2017 Lunar Disco compiled the latest Buddha Bar album called 'Buddha-Bar Meets French Kitchen & Friends' featuring one of their next releases "Fidji". The album was top two on iTunes in the electronic charts after two days of release. [7] Early in 2018 they signed their first EP on Kindisch Records called Winterfell featuring two other tracks called Balkan Consortium and Make It Beautiful which ranked in the top 100 on Beatport. [8]

Some dance music compilations referred to it as "the sound of Ibiza", even though many other, more aggressive and upbeat forms of dance music could be heard on the island, such as Balearic trance.

Sven Väth is a German DJ and electronic music producer. He is a three-time DJ Awards winner, and his career in electronic music spans over 30 years. The single "Electrica Salsa" with OFF launched his career in 1986. Referred to as "Papa Sven" by his fans, Sven Väth has made his mark in the music community by being one of Germany's pop stars in the nineties, running two night clubs in Germany, and starting his own company Cocoon, which encompasses a booking agency, record label, and a branch for events. He is recognized for cultivating the underground electronic music scene not just in Germany but in Ibiza as well, with his own night at Amnesia for eighteen years and after-parties at creative locations around the island. Sven Väth is a major proponent of vinyl, using only two decks and a mixer for his extensive DJ sets, his longest set having been 30 hours.

Amnesia is a nightclub on the Spanish island of Ibiza. It opened in 1976 and won the title of Best Global Club in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 at the IDMA Awards in Miami. The club is located close to the village of San Rafael on the highway between Sant Antoni de Portmany and Ibiza Town.

In 2012, Ministry of Sound Egypt held a residency at Space Sharm hosting 2 events: 'HedKandi' and 'Smoove'. The brand departed later that year. In 2011, Space collaborated with Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila by throwing an event at Space Sharm to celebrate the 200th episode of their hugely successful radio show Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE). Space continued to hold regular FSOE events throughout the year due to its popularity in Egypt.
