Sonny Fodera is an English-based Australian house music DJ and producer living in London. [1] [2] Known for his vocal-driven, pop-forward songs, Fodera has released 5 albums. [3]

Career

Early career

Fodera grew up in Adelaide, Australia, where he began working on hip hop beats in his mid-teens. [4] At age 18 he was inspired to start creating house music after seeing American DJ Derrick Carter perform at a nightclub. [5] At 23 he began touring in the US and UK. [4] DJ Gene Farris asked Fodera to remix his track "Dance Warriors" for Green Velvet's label Cajual Records, who released his first two albums Moving Forward in 2013 and After Parties & Aeroplanes in 2014. [4] [6] [7] In 2013 MixMag named Fodera as one of their "Hot Six". [8]

2016–2018: Frequently Flying

In early 2016, Fodera released an In The House compilation mix on Defected Records and completed a 30 date tour of the UK, US, and Australia. [9] That summer Fodera performed at several festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Creamfields, and Hideout, and released his first Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 in August. [6] [10] After releasing the single "You & I" in October, Fodera released his album Frequently Flying in November on Defected Records. [11] [12] Fodera promoted the album with a 16 date North American tour in November which included performances at EDC Orlando and Escape: Psycho Circus. [12] [13] That year Fodera reached #2 in the UK and Europe and #1 in Australia on the Beatport club DJ chart. [5]

In early 2017 Fodera launched his record label Solotoko and released his single "Set Me Free" through it. [4] [2] [14] In June Fodera released a deluxe version of Frequently Flying, followed by US and UK tours in October. [15] [14]

In 2018, Fodera performed at Splash House and Reading and Leeds festivals, as well as an 8 week headline residency at Cuckoo Land at Ibiza Rocks Hotel over the summer. [16] [17] [18] That October Fodera released two remixes of Calvin Harris' "Promises". [19]

2019–2020: Rise

After performances at CRSSD Festival and the DoLab stage at Coachella in March and April 2019, Fodera released his album Rise on Insomniac Records and Solotoko in July. [20] [21] [22] That summer Fodera returned to Cuckoo Land for an 11 week headline residency, and performed on tour in the UK and in the US with Dom Dolla in the fall. [23] [22] [24] Fodera also released his Vibrate EP with Biscits in October and single "One Night" with MK in November, which hit the Official Singles Chart and has since been certified silver in the UK. In 2020, Fodera released the singles "Before U" with King Henry featuring AlunaGeorge in March, "Moving Blind" with Dom Dolla in March, and "Wired" featuring Ella Eyre and "Turn Back Time" with Diplo in November. [29] [30] [31]

2021–present: Wide Awake

After remixing Glass Animals' "Heat Waves" in February and releasing his single "Nah" with Sinéad Harnett, Fodera released his album Wide Awake in October 2021. [32] [33] [1]

In April 2022 Fodera released a deluxe version of Wide Awake with three additional tracks. [34] The same month Fodera released the single "Need You" as part of Spotify's mint Singles series. [35] Fodera will perform a 16 week residency at Amnesia in Ibiza with Gorgon City this summer. [36]

Tim Bergling, known professionally as Avicii, was a Swedish record producer and DJ. At age 16, Bergling began posting his remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his single "Levels". His debut studio album, True (2013), blended electronic music with elements of multiple genres and received generally positive reviews. Club Glow is the longest running electronic music event promoter on the East Coast and venue owner based in Washington, DC. Established in 1999, they currently operate venues Echostage and Soundcheck and host numerous large-scale events and music festivals at the DC Armory and RFK Stadium, including Project GLOW and Moonrise Music Festival. Club Glow regularly brings top international talent to Echostage, and in 2021 the venue obtained the first place in the world by DJ Magazine’s "Top 100 Clubs," and has been voted as "the best electronic music venue in North America" since 2017. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007. Lost Kings are an American DJ duo consisting of Robert Abisi and Nick Shanholtz, based in Los Angeles. Dominic Matheson, better known by his stage name Dom Dolla, is an Australian house music producer, songwriter and remixer, known for songwriting, production, performances and profile collaborations. Grammy Award nominee in 2024 for the song "New Gold", featuring Gorillaz, Tame Impala, & Bootie Brown. Juno Award nominee in 2024 for the song "Eat Your Man", featuring Nelly Furtado. Has been nominated eight times for the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release; Including: in 2017 for "Be Randy", with Torren Foot and in 2019, for the song "Take It". He won the award at the 2020 ARIA Music Awards for the song "San Frandisco" and in 2023 for the song "Rhyme Dust". Performed in festivals such as Coachella 2022 and Lollapalooza 2023. Dom has sold out such venues as Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia and Forest Hills Stadium in New York.
