Katherine Raison (born 2 February 1962) is an Australian actress, best known for her roles on television and film, predominantly her numerous roles in soap operas.

Career

Raison starred in A Country Practice from 1987 to 1990 as Cathy Hayden, E Street from 1991 to 1992 as Sheriden Sturgess, and Pacific Drive from 1995 to 1996 as Georgina Ellis

Raison has also appeared in Home and Away , Farscape and All Saints .

In early 2019, Raison began playing a recurring role in long-running series Neighbours . Her character, Claudia Watkins, the cold, estranged mother of established character Finn Kelly (Rob Mills), initially appeared in 6 episodes. She returned for another guest stint in December 2019 during which she causes problems for Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), the mother of her baby granddaughter to her other son, the then missing and presumed deceased, Shaun Watkins (Brad Moller). Raison returned for a third stint in Neighbours in April 2020 following the death of Finn Kelly. During this stint, her character, goes for custody of her baby granddaughter, and discovers her youngest son, Shaun, is still alive.

Personal life

Raison is married to fellow Australian actor Brian Meegan, with whom she has starred with in several plays, and together they are patrons of the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. They share a daughter, Hannah-Rae Meegan. [3]

Sky Mangel is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 1 February 1989. The character was originally played by Miranda Fryer until 1991. When Sky was reintroduced on 13 August 2003, Stephanie McIntosh took over the role. She departed on 3 August 2007. McIntosh reprised her role as part of the show's 30th anniversary celebrations on 20 March 2015. She returned for a longer stint as part of the 35th anniversary on 13 March 2020, and made an unannounced cameo appearance in the final episode on 28 July 2022, though her appearance was only broadcast in the Australian cut of the episode. McIntosh reprised the role again on 3 July 2024 before departing again on 4 July 2024.

She made her first on-screen appearance on 29 April 1986 and was known almost exclusively as Mrs Mangel. In the short time she was in the series her constant sparring with Madge Bishop was a focal point in her storylining, as well as being a continual annoyance among her neighbours with her nosy, interfering and nasty attitude. Samantha "Sam" Fitzgerald is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Simone Buchanan. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 21 March 2008. After departing on 25 June 2008, she made a brief return on 24 November 2008. Samantha's main storylines focused on her marriage to Daniel Fitzgerald, her bipolar disorder, which was triggered by a miscarriage prior to her introduction, and a pregnancy. In June 2010, executive producer Susan Bower announced that Buchanan had reprised her role and Samantha returned on 1 November 2010. She was the lead prosecutor in Stephanie Scully's culpable driving trial. The character departed on 24 November 2010. Buchanan reprised the role ten years later, and returned on 6 April 2020.

Kaplan's character and her family were created and introduced to Neighbours, as part of an ongoing overhaul of the show's cast and renewed focus on family units within the show. The character was introduced as Susan Kennedy's teenage niece, giving her instant connections within the show. Nunn said Elly had "a lot of attitude", while she was also billed as being rebellious and spirited. Ned Willis is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, played by Ben Hall. The character was created in the early 1990s, but he was not seen on-screen. Over twenty years later, the show's UK broadcaster Channel 5 confirmed that Hall had been cast in the role and would make a short guest appearance. He made his debut in the episode broadcast on 6 April 2016. Series producer Jason Herbison had plans to promote Hall to the regular cast, but he was unsure about making a long-term commitment to the show. Following his initial guest stint, Hall returned twice in August and November 2016. Ned is often portrayed as a complex, manipulative character, but he is a good person at heart. He tries to do things for the right reasons, but often goes about it in the wrong way. Hall thought Ned was close to becoming a bad boy at times, a trait he enjoyed playing. The actor relocated to Melbourne, where the show's studios are located, for the role of progressive high school teacher Finn. Mills began filming his first scenes in early November 2016, and he confirmed that he would be on-screen for around four to five months. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 15 March 2017. Finn was introduced as a replacement for fellow teacher Brad Willis at Erinsborough High.

<i>Neighbours</i> 35th Anniversary Episode of Neighbours

Neighbours celebrated its 35th anniversary during the week comprising 16–20 March 2020. This consisted of the five regular weekday episodes as well as five extra episodes as part of a series titled Neighbours: Endgame, aired as the second part to the regular episodes.
