Kategoria Superiore U-21, also called U-21 Superiore, is a reserve league competition for football clubs in Albania. [1] The league was formed in November 2020 and the first season comprised 13 teams which is due to end on 19 May 2021. [2]

The Kategoria Superiore, officially known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Kategoria e Parë is the second level of professional football in Albania, behind the Kategoria Superiore and above the Kategoria e Dytë.

The 2008–09 Kategoria Superiore was the 73rd season of top-tier football in Albania and the eleventh season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 24 August 2008 and ended on 23 May 2009. The defending champions were Dinamo Tirana.

The 2010–11 Kategoria Superiore was the 72nd official season, or the 75th season of top-tier football in Albania and the thirteenth season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season began on 21 August 2010 and ended on 16 May 2011. Dinamo Tirana were the defending champions, having won their 18th Albanian championship last season.

The 2011–12 Kategoria Superiore was the 73rd official season, or 76th season of top-tier football in Albania and the fourteenth season under the name Kategoria superiore. The season began on 10 September 2011 and ended on 12 May 2012. The defending champions were Skënderbeu, who won their second Albanian league championship last season and third in their history.

There were 20 teams competing this season, split in 2 groups, each with 10 teams. The 2 winners of each group gained promotion to the 2020-21 Kategoria Superiore, and played the division's final against each other. The runners-up of each group played a play-off match between them. The winners of the play-off played another promotion play-off match against the 8th ranked team of the 2019–20 Kategoria Superiore. Apolonia and Kastrioti were promoted to the 2020–21 Kategoria Superiore. Devolli, Iliria, Shënkolli, Shkumbini and Tërbuni were relegated to the 2020–21 Kategoria e Dytë. The 2021–22 Kategoria e Parë is the 74th official season of the Albanian football second-tier since its establishment. The season began in 11 September 2021 and will end in 7 May 2022. There are 16 teams competing this season. The winning and runner-up teams will gain promotion to the 2022-23 Kategoria Superiore. The promotion play-offs winner will play a promotion play-off match against the 8th ranked team of the 2021–22 Kategoria Superiore.

The 2021 Albanian Supercup was the 28th edition of the Albanian Supercup, an annual Albanian football match. The teams were decided by taking the of the previous season's Kategoria Superiore champions and the winners of the Albanian Cup.

The 2022–23 Kategoria Superiore will be the 84th official season, or 85th season of top-tier football in Albania and the 23rd season under the name Kategoria Superiore. The season will begin in September 2022 and will end in May 2023.
