Katrien Vermeire (born Ostend, 1979) is a Belgian artist.
Katrien Vermeire studied photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and art history at Ghent University. She won the quadrennial Fine Arts Award of the Province of West Flanders in 2002. [1] Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries both in Belgium and abroad, including the FOAM photography museum in Amsterdam [2] and the new Museum M in Leuven. [3]
In 2011, Vermeire's photo series Godspeed, [4] in which she followed swarms of fireflies in the Great Smoky Mountains photographing male fireflies flashing in large groups at night as a mating ritual, was selected for Foam Magazine's No. 28 Talent. [5] The Wave, a photo and film project co-directed with Sarah Vanagt, premiered at the 18th Biennale of Sydney [6] 2012 and was selected for international festivals including Locarno, [7] IDFA Amsterdam [8] and IFFR Rotterdam. [9] Her first documentary short film Der Kreislauf (A Handful) won the Kidseye Grand Prize at the 2014 Rhode Island International Film Festival. [10]

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since its foundation in 1972, it has maintained a focus on independent and experimental filmmaking by showcasing emerging talents and established auteurs. The festival also places a focus on presenting cutting edge media art and arthouse film, with most of the participants in the short film program identified as artists or experimental filmmakers. Renzo Martens is a Dutch artist who currently lives and works in Amsterdam and Kinshasa. In 2010 Renzo Martens initiated the art institute Human Activities (HA) that postulates a gentrification program on a palm oil plantation in the Congolese rainforest.

Kamar Ahmad Simon is a new generation Bangladeshi filmmaker whose works centre existential themes of the subaltern and style challenges the border between fiction and non-fiction. Kamar came to fame with his critically acclaimed debut ‘Are You LIstening!’ for which he won the Grand Prix at Cinéma du Réel at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Golden Conch at the Mumbai International Film Festival. ‘Are You Listening!’ was also the curtain-opener of Locarno Open Doors Screening and Dok-Leipzig in Germany. Kamar was featured as the red carpet Director at Locarno Piazza Grande after winning the best project award in Locarno Open Doors Hub for the 2nd part of the water trilogy ‘Day after…’, which was in the main international competition of IDFA 2021. It was also invited to La Atelier Cinéfondation of Cannes where only the organizers reserve the right to invite the upcoming very best of world cinema. Kamar received WCF from Berlinale for his upcoming feature ‘Iron Stream’.’ La Bibliothèque publique d’information (BPI) France, Johns Hopkins University USA has acquired his film and Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland (RAI) have exhibited his work.

Sibs Shongwe- La Mer is a screenwriter, film director, musician, TED (conference) talks alumni and visual artist born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His critically acclaimed debut feature film, Necktie Youth premiered in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival and numerous top tier international film festivals, winning "Best South African Feature Film" and "Best Direction" at the Durban International Film Festival in 2015. The film went on to garner a multitude of awards including "Best Achievement in Cinematography" and "Best Achievement in editing" at the 2015 South African Film and Television Awards. Wim Goes Architectuur is an architecture practice founded by Wim Goes in 1999. Next to his architecture practice, Wim Goes has published drawings and texts on architecture and is teaching at the KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture since 2005. He received his master's degree from Sint-Lucas School of Science & Arts in 1993 and attended the 2006 Glenn Murcutt International Master Class in Australia and the 2008 Master Class in New Zealand with Ian Athfield. He worked on construction sites and in workshops before establishing Wim Goes Architectuur.
