Katrin Gray, (born May 9, 1985) [1] professionally known as Mermaid Kat, is a scuba diving instructor and model, best known in modern mermaiding. [2] [1] [3] She was crowned Queen of the World Germany 2007 and Sea Star Girl 2008. [4]

Early life and career

Gray was born and raised in Hannover, Germany. [1] In 2006, she started her modelling career and was named Miss Germany International, 2006. [5] [6] In 2011, Gray moved to Phuket, Thailand, where she continued modelling and also became a scuba diving instructor. [7] In May 2012, Gray started working as an underwater model and professional mermaid under her artist name Mermaid Kat. [8]

In August 2012, she opened "Mermaid Kat Academy" in Thailand. [9] [10] It has trained over 7,000 new mermaids in over 10 different countries. [11] The main base of her mermaid school is now in Germany. When Gray moved back to Australia in 2015, she opened branches of her mermaid school in Western Australia and Queensland. [12]

Since January 2016, Gray is working regularly with Dream Cruises where she performs as a mermaid, teaches mermaid classes and giving talks during cruises. [13] [14]

In January 2019 and 2020 Gray performed at the German boat show boot Düsseldorf. [15]

<i>SuperStar Libra</i>

SuperStar Libra was a cruise ship owned and last operated by Star Cruises. She was built in 1988 at Wärtsilä Marine Perno Shipyard in Turku, Finland as Seaward for Norwegian Cruise Line. In 1997 she was renamed Norwegian Sea, remaining in NCL fleet. In 2005 she was transferred to the fleet of Star Cruises. In May 2022, the ship, renamed Libra, arrived in Turkey for demolition.

Disney Wish is the fifth cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. She is the largest ship in the fleet and the first of the Wish-class. She entered service in June 2022 and will be followed by her sister ships the Disney Treasure in 2024 and a yet to be named 3rd Wish class ship in 2025. The other four ships in the fleet are the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. The Disney Adventure will also join the fleet in 2025.
