Kayah State Government is the cabinet of Kayah State. The cabinet is led by a chief minister. [1] [2] The Government Office is on the Kanthayawaddi Road.

Kayah State, or Karenni State, is a state of Myanmar. Situated in eastern Myanmar, it is bounded on the north by Shan State, on the east by Thailand's Mae Hong Son Province, and on the south and west by Kayin State. It lies approximately between 18° 30′ and 19° 55′ north latitude and between 96° 50′ and 97° 50′ east longitude. The area is 11,670 km2 (4,510 sq mi). Its capital is Loikaw. The estimated population in the 2014 Myanmar Census was 286,738, the smallest among Myanmar's seven states. It is inhabited primarily by the Karenni ethnic group, also known as Red Karen or Kayah, a Sino-Tibetan people.

Wunna Maung Lwin is a Burmese politician and a member of State Administration Council. He was a Minister of Foreign Affairs under Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing after the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. He previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from March 2011 to March 2016. He is a retired colonel in the Myanmar Army.

Kayah State Hluttaw is the legislature of the Burmese state of Kayah State. It is a unicameral body, consisting of 20 members, including 15 elected members and 5 military representatives. As of February 2016, the Hluttaw was led by speaker Hla Htwe of the National League for Democracy (NLD).

Khin Maung Oo was the Chief Minister of Kayah State, Myanmar. He served as Chief Minister of Kayah State from 2011 to 2016 and August 2021 to January 2022 under Thein Sein and PM Min Aung Hlaing. He was appointed as the Chairman of Kayah State Administration Council, sub-council of State Administered Council, from February 2021 to 1 August 2021.

Colonel Kyaw Zaya is a Burmese military officer currently serving as Minister of Security and Border Affairs for Tanintharyi Region since 20 February 2017. He previously served as Acting Chief Minister of Tanintharyi Region after the arrested Chief Minister Lei Lei Maw with corruption case on 10 March 2019. He became a member of Tanintharyi Administration Council formed after 2021 coup and resumed military services on 1 August 2021.

The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw is a Burmese legislative body in exile, representing a group of National League for Democracy lawmakers and members of parliament ousted in the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. The Committee consists of 17 members of the Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw.

The Provisional Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, is the provisional government of Myanmar under the current military junta, the State Administration Council. On 1 August 2021, it replaced the Management Committee of the State Administration Council, which had been in place since 19 February 2021, following the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. Some ministers were appointed by Min Aung Hlaing immediately following the coup on 1 February, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services exercising emergency powers.

Zaw Myo Tin is a Burmese politician who served as chief minister of Kayah State. He is a retired Lieutenant general of Tatmadaw, the armed forces of Myanmar. He served as a legislator of Kayah State Hluttaw, minister of Security and Border Affairs of Kayah State, Commander of Regional Operations Commands (Loikaw), Commander of Naypyitaw Regional Command and Chief of Armed Forces Training.

The 2021 Battle of Loikaw was an engagement between the Tatmadaw against ethnic Karenni militias and local PDF civilian guerrillas. The battle began on 21 May 2021, and was one of the first engagements of the current Myanmar Civil War in Kayah State.

The 2022 Battle of Loikaw was a battle for the city of Loikaw, in Myanmar's Kayah State, between January and July 2022. The State Administration Council's Tatmadaw forces attacked the city at the beginning of 2022, which was being held by the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force and local People's Defence Force groups. The fighting caused over 90,000 people in Loikaw Township to flee.

The First Battle of Demoso began on May 21, 2021, between the forces of the State Administration Council junta and Karenni separatist groups allied with the anti-junta People's Defence Force (PDF) during the 2021 Myanmar civil war. The battle took place over the span of a few weeks in the city of Demoso and surrounding villages, eventually ending in a ceasefire between the two parties.
