Mingo was born and grew up in Farmingdale, New York and attended Long Island Lutheran High School. [1] Mingo averaged 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game during his senior year. [1]

Recruiting

Mingo was a consensus four-star recruit and regarded to be a top player in New York, according to major recruiting services. [2] [3] [4] He committed to play college basketball at Penn State over offers from Xavier and Georgia. [3]
