FC Vostok was a Kazakh football club from Öskemen (Ust-Kamenogorsk), and a founding member of the Kazakhstan Premier League in 1992. The club's best finish in the league was 5th place in 1997 and again in 1998.
East Kazakhstan Region is a region of Kazakhstan. It occupies the easternmost part of Kazakhstan, and includes parts of the Irtysh River, Lake Markakol, and Lake Zaysan. Its administrative center is Öskemen. No clubs participated in continental competitions during the 2001–02 season, as the Football Federation of Kazakhstan finalised their switch to become the 52nd member of UEFA. Kazakhstani clubs have played in UEFA competitions since the 2002–03 season. FC Astana-64, in the 2007–08 UEFA Champions League, were the first club to advance in a European tournament. Tobol reached the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup by winning three rounds of the Intertoto Cup in 2007. Shakhter Karagandy were the first team to reach group stage of any competition in 2013, qualifying to UEFA Europa League after being defeated in UEFA Champions League play-off round. Astana became the first ever Kazakhstani team to reach UEFA Champions League group stage in 2015, passing three rounds of qualification and play-offs. Astana also became the first ever Kazakhstani team to qualify for knockout stage of any European competition in 2017, by finishing runner-up in 2017–18 UEFA Europa League group stage. In 2021 Kairat became the first ever Kazakhstani club to compete in the group stage of inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.
Altai, until 2019 known as Zyryan or Zyryanovsk is a town of regional significance in East Kazakhstan Region of Kazakhstan, the administrative center of Zyryan District. It was established in 1791 and was granted town status in 1941. Population: 39,320 ;43,894.
Torpedo Hockey Club, commonly referred to as Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk, formerly known as Kazzinc-Torpedo (1999–2015), is a professional ice hockey team based in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. Torpedo has typically been the most dominant developmental club in Kazakhstan and its senior level team plays at the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship. Most Kazakh players who have reached the National Hockey League (NHL) trace their roots to Torpedo. Kazzinc-Torpedo is the most crowned Kazakhstan team, with 13 championship wins.

The 2015 Kazakhstan Cup is the 24th season of the Kazakhstan Cup, the annual nationwide football cup competition of Kazakhstan since the independence of the country. The competition began on 29 March 2015 and will end with the final in November 2015. Kairat are the defending champions, having won their first cup in the 2014 competition.
The 2016 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 25th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. Astana were the defending champions having won their second league championship the previous year, and they successfully defended their title this season. The season began on 12 March 2016 and concluded on 29 October 2016; the relegation play-off took place on 5 November 2016.

The 2017 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship was the 18th edition of the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, an international volleyball club tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Volleyball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (VFRK). It was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan from 25 to 31 May 2017. The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship with the champion qualifying for the world championship.

It was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan from 11 to 18 July 2018. The tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship with the champion qualifying for the World Championship.

The Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, previously the AVC Cup Women's Club Tournament, is an annual continental club volleyball competition organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continental governing body.
