Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad (born 20 February 1956) [1] is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) politician who served as a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Comilla-3 constituency from 1986 to 1990 and again from 1996 to 2014. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
In his political career,Kaikobad was appointed as a whip of the Bangladesh Parliament (state minister equivalent) in 1989. Later,he was appointed as the state minister in‐charge for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Waqf of Bangladesh in 1990. During his parliamentary career,he has also served as a member of different parliamentary standing committees.[ citation needed ]
Kaikobad was sentenced to life imprisonment for taking part in the 2004 Dhaka grenade attack that targeted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. [7] [8] [9] In 2014,he was a fugitive,reportedly in Thailand. [10] In 2016,he was made one of 33 vice-chairman in the executive committee of BNP. [11]
Interpol had issued a red notice for Kaikobad,but cancelled it on 4 May 2018 because it was not consistent with Interpol's constitution.

The 2004 Dhaka grenade attack took place at an anti-terrorism rally organised by Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue on 21 August 2004. The attack left 24 dead and more than 500 injured. The attack was carried out at 5:22 pm after Sheikh Hasina,the leader of opposition had finished addressing a crowd of 20,000 people from the back of a truck. Hasina also sustained some injuries in the attack.
Ivy Rahman was a Bangladeshi politician. She was the Women's Affairs secretary of Awami League. She was injured and later died following the 2004 Dhaka grenade attack.

Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi politician,minister and six-term member of Jatiya Sangsad and member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee,who served as the adviser of parliamentary affairs to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in from 2001 to 2006. On 1 October 2013 he was convicted of 9 of 23 charges and sentenced to death by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh for crimes during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence. However,limitations placed on his defense testimony were called "disturbing" and the trial was politically motivated.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 30 December 2018 to elect 300 directly-elected members of the Jatiya Sangsad. The result was another landslide victory for the Awami League-led Grand Alliance led by Sheikh Hasina. The elections were marred by violence,and were widely considered by opposition politicians and the international community to be rigged.
Abdur Rob Serniabat (1921-1975) was a Bangladeshi politician and the former water resources minister. He was the brother-in-law of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,founding father of Bangladesh,and the maternal uncle of Sheikh Hasina,the five-time prime minister of Bangladesh. Sheikh Mohammad Rezaul Karim is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Pirojpur-1 constituency during 2019–2024. He is a former minister of fisheries and livestock. Earlier he had served as the minister of housing and public works for 13 months. He has been in hiding ever since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on 5 August 2024.
