The politics of Kenya take place in a framework of a presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the President of Kenya is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party system in accordance with a new constitution passed in 2010.
The president of the Republic of Kenya is the head of state and head of government of Kenya. The president leads the executive branch of the Government of Kenya and is the commander-in-chief of the Kenya Defence Forces. The official residence of the president is State House, Nairobi.
The National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya is the lower house of the Parliament of Kenya. Between 1966 and 2013, it served as a unicameral house. In 2013, it became the lower house when the Senate was reestablished.

He belonged to the CORD coalition under the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent the Kilifi North Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2013 Kenyan parliamentary election He was the Chairman of the African Union Parliamentary Group. He was also the current Chief-Whip succeeding from Hon. Jakoyo Midiwo. He was a member in the Parliamentary House Business Committee(House keeping), Committee on Selection, and the Lands Committee (Departmental). He is also a former Mayor of Malindi Town and represented Malindi in the last parliament before it was split.
Charles Cheruiyot Keter is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the United Republican Party (URP). He was elected to represent the Belgut Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election. In 2013 he ran for the senatorial seat for Kericho County on a URP ticket under the Jubilee Coalition led by Uhuru Kenyatta. Since 2015 he is Kenya's energy minister.
David Musila is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Wiper Democratic Movement and was elected to represent Mwingi South Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election of 1997. He is currently a senator representing Kitui County. Musila was a DO, DC and deputy PC between 1966 and 1979. In 1979, he was Moi's choice as PC for the troubled Central Province, a post which he retained until 1985, after which he became Director of Tourism. He retired from the civil service in 1988. He was elected as a KANU MP in 1997 and has remained in the house ever since, moving to the LDP wing of NARC in 2002, and was Deputy-Speaker in the 2003 Parliament. He was a KANU official in the 1990s and later became Deputy Chairman and then Chairman of the Liberal Democratic party (LDP).
Japhet Kareke Mbiuki is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Kenya African National Union and was elected to represent the Nithi Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. In his first term In parliament he served as an assistant minister in the ministry of livestock and agriculture. He's credited as the brains behind the introduction of free fertiliser and seedlings to farmers. Between 2012 and 2017 he was reelected back to parliament under The National Alliance party. In the 2017 general election he was overwhelming reelected back to parliament under the Jubilee party and currently serving as chair of parliamentary Committee on National environment.
Wilfred Gisuka Machage is a Kenyan politician. Machage was first elected as Member of Parliament to represent the Kuria Constituency in 2002. He has served in several government ministries as an assistant minister and was at one time appointed a cabinet minister for East African Community Affairs, Bank accounts held at Kenya Commercial Bank, where he was also an ex-officio member of the East African Legislative Assembly. In 2007 he was the Democratic Party candidate and was elected to represent the Kuria Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election. He has also served as Assistant Minister of Home Affairs' Office of Vice President, Office of the President, Health, and Roads. Machage was elected as the first senator of Migori county in 2012 to 2017. He is a businessman with interests in different sectors globally. He was appointed as Ambassador by H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta on 27 January 2018. Machage is the current Kenya high commissioner to Nigeria and accredited to 12 other countries in central and west Africa.
The Government of the Republic of Kenya (GoK) is the national government of the republic of Kenya which is composed of 47 Counties, each county with its own semi-autonomous governments. The national government is composed of three arms: The Legislature, the Executive and the Judiciary. Each arm is independent of the other and their individual roles are set by the Constitution of Kenya. The full name of the country is the "Republic of Kenya". Its official Swahili name is 'Jamhuri ya Kenya'. Other terms such as GoK, GK and Serikali are popularly used to refer to the Kenyan government.
The Constitution of Kenya is the supreme law of the Republic of Kenya. There have been three significant versions of the constitution, with the most recent redraft being enabled in 2010. The 2010 edition replaced the 1963 independence constitution. The constitution was presented to the Attorney General of Kenya on 7 April 2010, officially published on 6 May 2010, and was subjected to a referendum on 4 August 2010. The new Constitution was approved by 67% of Kenyan voters. The constitution was promulgated on 27 August 2010.
The counties of Kenya are geographical units envisioned by the 2010 Constitution of Kenya as the units of devolved government. The powers are provided in Articles 191 and 192, and in the fourth schedule of the Constitution of Kenya and the County Governments Act of 2012. The counties are also single-member constituencies for the election of members of parliament to the Senate of Kenya and special women members of parliament to the National Assembly of Kenya. As of 2013 general elections, there are 47 counties whose size and boundaries are based on the 47 legally recognized districts of Kenya. Following the re-organization of Kenya's national administration, counties were integrated into a new national administration with the national government posting county commissioners to represent it at the counties.
The National Land Commission of Kenya is an independent government commission whose establishment was provided for by the Constitution of Kenya to, amongst other things, manage public land on behalf of the national and county governments, initiate investigations into present or historical land injustices and recommend appropriate redress, and monitor and have oversight responsibilities over land use planning throughout the country. NLC was officially established under The National Land Commission Act of 2012.
Justin Bedan Njoka Muturi is the seventh Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya, in office since 2013. He is the first Speaker to serve following the reestablishment of a bicameral Parliament, as mandated by the 2010 Constitution. On 28 March 2013, Muturi won the speakership after a second round of voting by Members of the National Assembly, beating former speaker Kenneth Marende by a 219–129 margin.
General elections were held in Kenya on 8 August 2017 to elect the President, members of the National Assembly and Senate. They coincided with the 2017 Kenyan local elections which elected Governors and representatives in the devolved governments.
