John Njoroge Michuki was a Kenyan politician and businessman. He was born at Muguru village in Fort Hall District. He was educated in Kenya and abroad. Michuki emerged as one of the prominent and long-serving civil servants and politicians as well as a businessman in Kenya. Michuki served Kenya in various capacities, including Permanent Secretary in the Finance Ministry, Chairman of the Kenya Commercial Bank, Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister. He was serving his 4th five-year term as a Member of Parliament for Kangema Constituency. Michuki had a reputation as a "ruthless" and efficient manager, and was widely acknowledged as among the best performing ministers in President Kibaki's Government. He was serving as the Minister for Environment and National Resources at the time of his death.

She also served as Cabinet Secretary for Land, Housing and Urban Development from 2013 until 2015.
Martha Wangari Karua is a Kenyan politician. She is a former long-standing member of parliament for Gichugu Constituency and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She was Minister for Justice until resigning from that position in April 2009. She has consistently fought for the protection of women's rights and improvements to the democratic process.
The Party of National Unity (PNU) is a political party in Kenya originally founded as a political coalition. On 16 September 2007, Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki announced the party's formation and declared that he would run as its presidential candidate in the December 2007 Kenyan elections. Following the conditions set by the Political Parties Act which were passed in Kenya in 2008, PNU became an official political party. Recently PNU has launched activities to revamp itself ahead of the 2022 general elections.

He is currently serving as the chairman of the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him to the position. He belongs to the Jubilee Alliance Party and was elected to represent the Bureti Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007.

He represented the Mukurweini Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya for two terms, having been elected for the first time in the 2007 Kenyan general election under the Safina Party, which he was member of until 2022. He is the founder Chairman of Nairobi Water Company, and a founder of Students' Opinion (STOP) lobby which led to the revival of Students' Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU), where he was elected President in 1992. He is a regular author and media commentator on public affairs, locally and globally. In 2014, he was voted the most progressive public interest legislator in Kenyan Parliament.
The National Alliance (TNA) was a political party in Kenya. It took on its current identity when Uhuru Kenyatta assumed control and renamed it as the vehicle for his 2012 presidential campaign.
