The National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) is a political party in Kenya. As an alliance,it was in power from 2002 and 2005 when it collapsed due to disagreements between members over a constitutional referendum.

The 10th Parliament of Kenya saw the National Assembly opened on 15 January 2008. This following the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of Raila Odinga winning a majority in the 2007 parliamentary elections. Raila was a candidate in the presidential elections,which resulted in a controversial victory for Mwai Kibaki of the Party of National Unity. The opening of the parliament was fraught with jeers,cheers and brawls between the opposing parties;Mwai Kibaki was greeted by the ODM members with silence and boos,while Raila was greeted by PNU members with accusations of genocide.
Kenneth Otiato Marende is a the former Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya's 10th Parliament. He was elected Speaker on January 15,2008. Prior to his election as Speaker,Hon. Marende served as the MP for Emuhaya constituency,from 2002 to 2007. Marende was a candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya's 13th Parliament,but was defeated by former Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula who garnered 215 votes ahead of Marende who managed 130.
Cyrus Shakhalaga Khwa Jirongo,popularly Cyrus Jirongo,is a politician and a former Member of Parliament in Kenya. Between 1978 and 1981 he went to Mang'u High School. He became the chairman of AFC Leopards football club in 1991.
Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya is currently the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs. He is a Kenyan politician who served as the governor of Kakamega County from 2013 to 2022. He was elected on 4 March 2013 and became the first governor of Kakamega County following promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya in 2010. Subsequently,in August 2017,he was reelected for his second term as governor. He is,therefore,the pioneer Governor of Kakamega County under the devolved system of governance in Kenya that established 47 counties. He was previously Minister of State for Planning,National Development and Vision 2030 in the government of the late President Mwai Kibaki. He was appointed on 14 January 2019 as the Council of Governors of Kenya chairperson. Wycliffe Oparanya was also the ODM Party Deputy Party Leader.
Charles Lilechi Lugano (1950–2009) was a Kenyan politician. He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and was elected to represent the Shinyalu Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election.
James Omingo Magara is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Jubilee Party and was the MP for South Mugirango Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya from the year 2000 - 2009. He first won the seat in the by-elections in 2001 on Ford-Kenya ticket,replacing his brother Enoch Nyakieya Magara of Ford-Kenya,who had died in a car accident. He retained the seat at the 2002 elections,but now representing Ford-People,and in the 2007 elections representing ODM. He was the assistant minister of trade until December 2009 the High court of Kenya declared the South Mugirango parliamentary seat vacant due to irregularities in the election process,although Magara himself was not found guilty of any rigging. Subsequent South Mugirango by-election was held in June 2010. Magara decamped to the little-known People's Democratic Party (PDP) after being denied ODM's nomination apparently because he had fallen out of favour with party leader Raila Odinga. The by-election was won by Manson Nyamweya of Ford-People,who beat Magara and Ibrahim Ochoi of ODM. In 2013,Omingo Magara Vied for Kisii Senatorial seat where he came far 3rd as Chris Obure worn in the fiercely contest elections
Reverend Moses Akaranga is a Kenyan politician who served as the first governor of Vihiga county having been defeated by Dr. Wilberforce Ottichilo in August 2017. He is also former Member of parliament for Sabatia constituency,having defeated Musalia Mudavadi of KANU from the Sabatia Constituency seat in the 2002 elections on a Ford-Kenya ticket. He served only one term and was defeated by Mudavadi,who was now representing Orange Democratic Movement at the 2007 elections.
Kakamega School,formerly known as Government African School Kakamega and Kakamega High School,is a four-year high school in Kakamega,Western Kenya,founded in 1932.

They were the first elections held under the new constitution,which was approved in a 2010 referendum,and were also the first run by the new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). John Murumba Chikati is a Kenyan politician and the current Secretary General for the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy –Kenya (FORD-Kenya). Chikati is also the current Member of National Assembly for Tongaren Constituency,and the current Secretary General for Catholic MPs Spiritual Support Initiative (CAMPSSI). He is the immediate former Special Secretary for Strategy and Delivery in the Office of the Deputy President.
