Keith Gillhouley (8 August 1934, [1] Crosland Moor,Huddersfield) is a former English first-class cricketer,who played in 24 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1961, [1] 83 for Nottinghamshire from 1963 to 1966,and one for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 1963.
A slow left arm bowler,he was a success with Yorkshire in his debut season of 1961,taking 77 wickets at 22.10, [1] with his career best analysis of 7 for 82 against Middlesex.
He was almost as prolific in his first season at Trent Bridge,taking 74 wickets at 27.82,with a best of 6 for 95. After that his career went into a decline,with 28 wickets at 30.78 in 1965,and only 10 at 57.90 in his final year for Notts. In all first-class cricket,he took 255 wickets in 108 first-class matches,at an average of 27.14. He took 5 wickets in an innings eight times. Batting right-handed,he also scored 2,051 first-class runs at 14.86,with a best of 75 not out against Worcestershire.
Gillhouley played two one day games for Nottinghamshire in the Gillette Cup,taking four wickets at 19.50,all in one spell against his native Yorkshire.

Cricket writer Colin Bateman stated,"Jack Birkenshaw was the epitome of a good all-round county cricketer:a probing off-spinner who used flight and guile,a handy batsman who could grind it out or go for the slog,a dependable fielder and great competitor."
Roy Kilner was an English professional cricketer who played nine Test matches for England between 1924 and 1926. An all-rounder,he played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1911 and 1927. In all first-class matches,he scored 14,707 runs at an average of 30.01 and took 1,003 wickets at an average of 18.45. Kilner scored 1,000 runs in a season ten times and took 100 wickets in a season five times. On four occasions,he completed the double:scoring 1,000 runs and taking 100 wickets in the same season,recognised as a sign of a quality all-rounder.
George Gibson Macaulay was a professional English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1920 and 1935. He played in eight Test matches for England from 1923 to 1933,achieving the rare feat of taking a wicket with his first ball in Test cricket. One of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1924,he took 1,838 first-class wickets at an average of 17.64 including four hat-tricks.
Kyle William Hogg is an English former cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler who played for Lancashire from 2001 to 2014. Between 2000–01 and 2002 Hogg represented the England under-19s in six youth Tests and 11 One Day Internationals (ODIs). In the 2006–07 season he travelled to New Zealand where he represented Otago as an overseas player. Hogg spent time on loan with Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire,both in 2007.
Adil Usman Rashid is an English cricketer who plays for England in One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket,and previously played for the Test team. In domestic cricket,he represents Yorkshire,and has played in multiple Twenty20 leagues,he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs.2 Crore,in the 2023 Indian Premier League auction. He is regarded as one of the best English spinners of all-time.
Arnold Hamer was a first-class cricketer,who played for Yorkshire in 1938,and for Derbyshire between 1950 and 1960,scoring over 15,000 runs in first-class cricket. He also played as a footballer,playing eight games for York City in 1938.
Barry Stead was an English first-class cricketer,who played for Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Charles Lee was an English first-class cricketer,who played two matches for Yorkshire in 1952,one for the Minor Counties in 1953,and 268 matches for Derbyshire between 1954 and 1964. He captained Derbyshire in his last two seasons in the game,and scored over 12,000 runs for the club.
Melville Ryan was an English professional cricketer who played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club from 1954 to 1965. He was born in Huddersfield,and died in the Kirkland Hospice at Dalton in Huddersfield.
John Tye was an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire in 1874 and 1875 and for Nottinghamshire from 1876 to 1881.
Steven Joseph "Steve" O'Shaughnessy is a former English professional cricketer who played for Lancashire and Worcestershire in the 1980s,and then had a substantial career in Minor Counties cricket with Cumberland. Since retiring from playing,he has become an umpire,and was promoted in December 2010 to the first-class panel for the 2011 season.
Robert George Mallaby Carter,is a former English cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Worcestershire. He was capped by the county in 1965,and was awarded a benefit season in 1973,which raised about £7,000. All but two of his 523 first-class wickets came for Worcestershire;the others were obtained for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the very last game of his career. Carter's batting was generally extremely poor,as evidenced by his career batting average of under five in both forms of the game,although he did play one significant –if ultimately fruitless –innings. In the 1963 Gillette Cup final against Sussex at Lord's,he came to the wicket with Worcestershire 133/9,needing 35 runs to win. In fading light,he and wicket-keeper Roy Booth added 21 before Carter was run out to end the match. Carter also played in a critical close finish the following season against Nottinghamshire,where he and Flavell managed to get home by a single wicket and virtually seal the county's first Championship title.
Frank Henry Vigar was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Essex County Cricket Club between 1938 and 1954. A right-handed batsman,and leg break bowler,Vigar served as an all-rounder with 8,858 runs at 26.28 and 241 wickets at 37.90. From his rained-off debut in 1938,Vigar went on to play 257 matches for his county. His greatest success came in the "golden summer" of 1947,where he scored 1,735 runs and took 64 wickets. A partnership with Peter Smith of 218 for the final wicket remains an Essex record.
Geoffrey Harold Hall was an English cricketer. He was born in Colne,Lancashire. During his career,he played for Somerset County Cricket Club,and made a total of 48 first-class appearances for the county.
David John Halfyard was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club between 1956 and 1970. He was primarily a bowler and took nearly 1,000 wickets during his first-class career. He also played Minor County cricket for Northumberland,Durham and Cornwall. Following a road traffic accident in 1962,Halfyard retired from cricket to become an umpire but was able to return to the game in 1968.
Michael Edward Latham played first-class cricket for Somerset in 1961 and 1962. He also played for Northumberland for many years in the Minor Counties and appeared for them in one List A match in 1971. He was born in Birmingham.
Iain Wardlaw is a retired English-born first-class cricketer who played international cricket for Scotland. A right-arm medium pacer and right-handed batsman,Wardlaw was contracted to Yorkshire County Cricket Club to the end of the 2012 season,and for whom he played four Twenty20 games,and one County Championship match in 2011.
Brett Alan Hutton is an English cricketer who plays for Nottinghamshire. He is a right-handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium pace.
Andrew Carter is an English cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-hand medium pace bowler,he began his county career with Nottinghamshire,making his first-class debut for them in June 2009. He also played on loan for Essex in 2010 and Glamorgan in 2015 while with Nottinghamshire. Carter joined Derbyshire prior to the 2016 season,but left the club later in the year. He represented England Lions in 2011.
Rodney Lynes Pratt is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Leicestershire between 1955 and 1964. He was a right-handed lower-order batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He was born at Stoney Stanton in Leicestershire.
