Kelechukwu Ebenezer Ibe-Torti (born 26 January 2002) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or winger for I liga club Stal Stalowa Wola. Born in Nigeria, he was a Poland youth international.

Early life

Born in Abuja, Nigeria, Ibe-Torti moved to Warsaw, Poland, at the age of twelve when his mother accepted a diplomatic job in the country. [2] [3] He remained in the country after his mother returned to Nigeria. [2]

Club career

After making his first senior competitive appearances with Escola Varsovia, [4] [5] Ibe-Torti moved to Polish second-tier side ŁKS Łódź in 2020, helping the club achieve promotion to Ekstraklasa in 2023. [6] He made his top flight debut on 21 July that year, coming on as a substitute in a 3–0 away loss against Legia Warsaw. [7]

On 31 August 2023, Ibe-Torti joined I liga side Resovia on a season-long loan. [8]

On 11 January 2025, he left ŁKS permanently to join another second division club Stal Stalowa Wola on a six-month contract, with an option for a further year. [9]

International career

He is eligible to play internationally for Nigeria and Poland, after obtaining Polish citizenship in August 2021. [10]

In 2019, he was included in the provisional squads for the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup for Nigeria U17s, but did not make the final rosters. [11] [12]

In May 2022, Ibe-Torti received his first call-up to the Poland U20 team, and made his debut in 0–1 Elite League away win against Italy on 7 June that year. [13]

The Subcarpathian Football Center is a football training complex in Stalowa Wola, Poland, comprising a main pitch, two pitches with artificial turf, two full-size pitches, and one full-size pitch with natural grass. The main pitch serves as the home stadium for Stal Stalowa Wola. Opened in 2020, the stadium is equipped with lighting and a heated pitch, and has a seating capacity of 3,764, including 258 seats for visiting fans.

The 2019–20 season was Stal Stalowa Wola's tenth consecutive season in II liga since relegation from I liga in 2010. In addition to the domestic league, Stal participated in this season's edition of the Polish Cup. The season was slated to cover a period from 27 July 2019 to 30 May 2020. It was extended extraordinarily beyond 30 June due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. In the end, Stal got relegated to III liga in spite of seven wins in the league at the last season's eleven games. The bad start and last matchday's defeat at Pogoń Siedlce confirmed the relegation.

After the return of Stal Stalowa Wola in 2023, the 2023–24 season was the club's first season in the II liga.
