Kenneth Otto Eikenberry (born June 29,1932) [1] is an American lawyer and politician.
Eikenberry was Washington's Attorney General from 1981 to 1993. A Republican,he succeeded Slade Gorton,who went on to represent Washington in the United States Senate. Eikenberry ran for governor of Washington in 1992,and was defeated narrowly by Democrat Mike Lowry. Eikenberry is currently on the board of the Constitutional Law PAC.
Eikenberry was a 3-term elected member of the Washington State House of Representatives,36th District,from 1971 through 1977. He also served as the elected Chairman of the Washington State Republican Party 1977 to June,1980,and again from 1993 through 1996.
He endorsed Clint Didier for the Senate in the 2010 midterm elections. [2] [3]
Recently[ when? ] he has been seen on TV in Washington urging a "NO" vote on the Washington Initiative 522,2012 on labeling of genetically-engineered foods.[ citation needed ]

Republican Tim Hutchinson won the open seat,becoming the first Republican to win a U.S. Senate seat in Arkansas since Reconstruction in 1872 and the first to ever be popularly elected in the state. He was the first to win this seat since 1870. Hutchinson lost re-election in 2002 to David Pryor's son Mark Pryor.

Incumbent Democratic Governor Jay Inslee was eligible to seek re-election to a fourth term but decided that he would not do so. The Democratic nominee,state Attorney General Bob Ferguson,defeated the Republican nominee,former Congressman Dave Reichert,who conceded defeat on November 19. Inslee,who previously served in the U.S. House,was first elected governor in 2012 and won re-election in 2016 and 2020. Washington has not had a Republican governor since John Spellman left office in 1985,the longest streak of Democratic leadership of any state in the country and the third-longest streak of one-party leadership after South Dakota and Utah. Ferguson defeated Reichert with 55.51% of the vote in the general election. He also became the first Democrat to win Clallam County since 2000.
The 2022 Texas elections were held on November 8,2022. Primary elections were held on March 1,with runoffs held on May 24 for primary candidates who did not receive a majority of the vote.
The 2022 Nevada Attorney General election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the Attorney General of Nevada. Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford won re-election to a second term in office. As Ford narrowly won Carson City,this was the first time since 2014 that a Democrat had won a county or county-equivalent outside of Clark or Washoe County. Ford's performance was also the best for a Nevada Democrat in a statewide race in 2022,as all other successful Democratic candidates for statewide races won with pluralities of the vote.
