Kenneth Renshaw

Kenneth Renshaw is an American concert violinist.

Renshaw was born in San Francisco to Kerrilyn, a concert pianist and piano teacher, and Curtis Renshaw, a concert guitarist, in October 1993. [1] When he was four, Kenneth started taking violin lessons on a 1/16 size violin. [1] He attended Crowden Music School middle school [2] and later Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts for high school. From 2008 to 2010, he was the concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and made his solo debut in Davies Symphony Hall as winner of the orchestra's concerto competition in 2010. [2]

In 2012 he won first place in the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in Beijing. He first attended the New England Conservatory for the first two years of his college education and is a senior at Juilliard in New York. His teachers include Li Lin, Itzhak Perlman, Donald Weilerstein, and Midori Goto. He has been loaned violins from the Stradivari Society of Chicago. [3] He was also one of 12 finalists in the 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. [4] [5]

Michaela Paetsch Neftel was an American violinist who was born in Colorado Springs. She was known for being the first American female to have recorded all 24 Paganini Caprices for solo violin. She was first prize winner in the 1984 G. B. Dealey Awards and a top prize winner in the 1985 Queen Elisabeth Competition and a special prize winner at the International Tchaikovsky Competition held in 1986.

Frank Xin Huang is a Chinese-born American violinist and teacher. Since 2015 he has been the concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic. Previous to his position in New York, Huang was the first violinist of the Ying Quartet and a professor of violin and chamber music at the Eastman School of Music, then served as the concertmaster of the Houston Symphony from 2010 to 2015. He has won several international music competitions, most notably the 2003 Naumburg Competition. Huang has concertized widely as a soloist, and his debut recording on Naxos was critically acclaimed.

Yu-Chien (Benny) Tseng is a Taiwanese violinist. In 2012 he was fifth laureate in the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition, where he also won both the Musiq'3 and the Klara-Canvas prizes awarded by the public. In the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition held in 2015, Tseng won the 2nd prize in the violin contest, in which no first prize was awarded. Tseng has recorded for Fuga Libera and the Chimei Museum.

Stephen Waarts is a Dutch American violinist. He was the first prize winner in the senior division of the 2014 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists in Austin, Texas. He was also the fifth prize winner of the 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium.

Aleksey Semenenko is a Ukrainian and German classical violinist. He won second prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2015, and has performed in Europe and the U.S. as a soloist and chamber musician. He has been teaching at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany's Ruhr Area.
