Kent-Erik Andersson (born 24 May 1951) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey right winger who played seven seasons in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers.

Playing career

Andersson played seven seasons in the NHL, five with the Minnesota North Stars [1] and two with the New York Rangers. [2] In his native Sweden he played for Färjestads BK, and in his last game with them won the Swedish Championship in 1986. After that season, he was forced to retire due to an eye injury. He also played for the Swedish National team and in 1977 he got a silver medal at the World Championship.

Glen Robert Sonmor was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, scout and coach. He played 28 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers from 1953 to 1955, though most of his career was spent in the minor American Hockey League. After his playing career, Sonmor turned to coaching. He led the University of Minnesota from 1966 to 1972, then went to the World Hockey Association, where he was the general manager, and occasional coach, of the Minnesota Fighting Saints and Birmingham Bulls between 1972 and 1978. He then moved to the NHL to coach the Minnesota North Stars from 1978 to 1987. Later in his career, Sonmor became a scout for the Minnesota Wild of the NHL.

Anders Hedberg is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player who was one of the first European-born players to make an impact in North America. He played internationally for the Sweden men's national ice hockey team, and was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1997. Along with countryman Ulf Nilsson, Hedberg signed a contract to play for the Winnipeg Jets in the World Hockey Association (WHA) in 1974, after having represented both Modo Hockey and Djurgårdens IF in his native Sweden. Hedberg subsequently played during seven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers. Ryan Patrick McDonagh is an American professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Drafted in the first round, 12th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007, he played college hockey for the Badgers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He also played for the New York Rangers, for whom he served as team captain from October 2014 until being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2018. McDonagh won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021. He has played in another 2 finals in 2014 with the Rangers and 2022 with the Lightning.

William Wayne Heindl Jr. was a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger who played 18 games in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers between 1970 and 1972, and in the World Hockey Association with the Cleveland Crusaders during the 1973–74 season. Internationally he played for the Canadian national team at the 1969 World Championships.

Mats André Zuccarello Aasen is a Norwegian professional ice hockey winger for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the New York Rangers and Dallas Stars. Prior to joining the NHL, Zuccarello previously played for Modo Hockey in the Swedish Elite League. In 2010, he won the Guldhjälmen, awarded annually to the most valuable player in the Swedish Hockey League. He is one of nine Norwegian players to have played in the NHL, and is regarded as the best to have played in the league.

It was the Rangers' first season in the newly created Metropolitan Division, which was created during the NHL's realignment in the 2013 offseason. The Rangers won 25 road games in the regular season, setting a franchise record. The Rangers returned to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since their championship in the 1993–94 season, losing in five games to the Los Angeles Kings.

He was selected in the first round, seventh overall, by the New York Rangers in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Andersson has also previously played for the Los Angeles Kings.
