Kentucky Route 322 (KY 322) is a 4.543-mile-long (7.311 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The route is located in Shelby and Henry counties.

A state highway, state road, or state route is usually a road that is either numbered or maintained by a sub-national state or province. A road numbered by a state or province falls below numbered national highways in the hierarchy. Roads maintained by a state or province include both nationally numbered highways and un-numbered state highways. Depending on the state, "state highway" may be used for one meaning and "state road" or "state route" for the other.

Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States. Although styled as the "State of Kentucky" in the law creating it, (because in Kentucky's first constitution, the name state was used) Kentucky is one of four U.S. states constituted as a commonwealth. Shelby County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 42,074. The county seat is Shelbyville. The county was founded in 1792 and named for Isaac Shelby, the first Governor of Kentucky.

Route description

The route originates at a junction with KY 53 in northern Shelby County and travels north for 2.3 miles (3.7 km) before entering into Henry County. In Henry County, the route intersects with KY 22 and continues north for two miles (3.2 km) until it meets its northern terminus at KY 1861 in Smithfield. The entire route is located in rural sections of Shelby and Henry counties.

Henry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky bordering the Kentucky River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 15,416. Its county seat is New Castle, but its largest city is Eminence. The county was founded in 1798 from portions of Shelby County. It was named for the statesman and governor of Virginia Patrick Henry.
