State highways in Kentucky are maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which classifies routes as either primary or secondary. Some routes, such as Kentucky Route 80, are both primary and secondary, with only a segment of the route listed as part of the primary system. Despite the name, there is no difference in signage between primary and secondary routes.
All of the Interstates and parkways are also primary, but only parts of the U.S. Highways in Kentucky are (though every mainline U.S. Highway is at least partially primary).
Due to the large size of the state highway system, only segments of routes that are part of the primary system are listed below.

The Kentucky Revised Statute 177.020(1) provides that the Department of Highways, a part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, is responsible for the establishment and classification of a State Primary Road System which includes the state primary routes, interstate highways, parkways and toll roads, state secondary routes, rural secondary routes and supplemental roads. These routes are listed below.
Kentucky Route 67 is a Kentucky State Highway originating at a junction with Interstate 64 (I-64) near Grayson, Kentucky in Carter County. The route continues through rural ridgetops in Greenup County and briefly touches Boyd County before terminating at U.S. Route 23 (US 23) in Greenup County in between Wurtland and Greenup. KY 67 is also known as the Industrial Parkway.
Kentucky Route 251 (KY 251) is an 11-mile-long (18 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kentucky, split into two sections. The highway connects Elizabethtown and Fort Knox with rural areas of Hardin County; the second section, separated from the first by Fort Knox, is near Belmont in Bullitt County.
Kentucky Route 379 (KY 379) is a 27.483-mile-long (44.230 km) state highway in Kentucky with two disjoint sections. The southern segment runs from KY 1880 near Claywell to the Cumberland River in Cumberland County. The northern segment begins at KY 771 near Ribbon and extends north to U.S. Route 127 in Russell Springs in Russell County.
Kentucky Route 1928 was a state highway in the city of Lexington in Fayette County, Kentucky. The highway ran 0.170 miles (0.274 km) along Jefferson Street from U.S. Route 60 east to US 25 and US 421.
