Kerberos Productions Inc. is a video game developer based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The company was formed in 2003 by former employees of Rockstar Vancouver.

The company takes its name and logo from Cerberus, a large three-headed creature of Greek mythology (Κέρβερος, in Greek). The three heads of the hellhound represent the three disciplines of game development: art, programming, and design.

The company has released 12 games in a handful of genre, most of them set in the same shared narrative world as their first game, a 4X game called Sword of the Stars and its sequel Sword of the Stars 2 . Additional titles include a role-playing video game titled Fort Zombie , a rogue-like game Sword of the Stars: The Pit , a wargame called Ground Pounders, an action-strategy game Kaiju-a-Gogo, a hybrid FPS/rogue-like The Pit: Infinity, two PC boardgames; Hoards of Glory and Planetary Control!, and two actual boardgames; Sword of the Stars: Planetary Control! and The Pit: The Boardgame.

Sword of the Stars was originally published by Lighthouse Interactive, which later folded. The 4X series was picked up and published by Paradox Interactive. All other Kerberos titles have been self-published.

HeroQuest, is an adventure board game created by Milton Bradley in conjunction with the British company Games Workshop in 1989, and re-released in 2021. The game is loosely based around archetypes of fantasy role-playing games: the game itself was actually a game system, allowing the gamemaster to create dungeons of their own design using the provided game board, tiles, furnishings and figures. The game manual describes Morcar/Zargon as a former apprentice of Mentor, and the parchment text is read aloud from Mentor's perspective. Several expansions have been released, each adding new tiles, traps, artifacts, and monsters to the core system.

Sword of the Stars is a space 4X game developed by Kerberos Productions. In the game the player chooses one of four unique races to form an interstellar empire and conquer the galaxy. In order to win, the player must expand territory by colonizing new star systems, exploit the resources available to their colonies, design and build starships, and improve their empire's technology through research and strategy.

Rogue Warrior is a 2009 first-person shooter video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by Bethesda Softworks for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was released on 26 November 2009 in Australia, 27 November in Europe, and 1 December in North America.

<i>Fort Zombie</i> 2009 video game

Fort Zombie is a role-playing video game developed by Kerberos Productions. It was released on October 30, 2009. The game takes place on a version of Earth that is being invaded by an evil force which warps reality and creates zombies. Players control Ben Riley, a young man who has survived through the destruction and is setting up a haven in the fictional town of Piety, Indiana. Each version of Piety in any play-through is procedurally generated, with different houses, items and enemies placed each time the player enters the town. Players must choose a location to fortify, build defenses and find supplies and survivors in thirteen in-game days before a zombie horde pours out of Indianapolis and overwhelms the survivors. The game began as a test for technology to be used in the upcoming game Northstar and uses a similar engine.

Arinn Dembo is an American author currently living and writing in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Dembo is best known for her work with Vancouver-based Kerberos Productions, where she was lead writer and has worked on the background fiction for the Sword of the Stars series and Fort Zombie.

<i>Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter</i> 2011 video game

Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter is a science fiction strategy video game developed by Kerberos Productions. It is the sequel to the 2006 game Sword of the Stars and is published by Paradox Interactive. It features the same six races as the original game along with a new enemy, the Suul'ka. On October 19, 2012, Kerberos gave the 'all-clear' rating, stating the game is now in an acceptable state and support for the project will continue indefinitely. In late 2012, the End of Flesh expansion was made available for free to all owners of the game, simultaneous with the release of the Enhanced Edition which bundles the original game with the expansion. The game received negative reviews from critics.

Lock 'n Load Publishing is a developer and publisher of board and computer games, specifically strategy games and wargames. They are based out of Colorado. From a small three-game beginning, Lock 'n Load Publishing has grown to a game company offering over fifty products including the Nations at War, World at War, Lock 'n Load, Corps Command, Tank on Tank series, Command Ops 2, and a company magazine, Line of Fire. Sword of the Stars: The Pit is a roguelike video game developed by Kerberos Productions. It is set in the universe of the game Sword of the Stars and is self-published through funding from an Indiegogo campaign. It was released on GamersGate on February 21, 2013, and later on Steam on March 8.
