Kevin Richard Hershberger [1] (born September 7, 1973) is an American film director, film producer, and screenwriter. Hershberger. [2] was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and grew up in Maryland. He attended the Virginia Military Institute (1995) and majored in International Studies and History. He then served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army for eight years. He currently lives in Richmond, Virginia. Hershberger is president of LionHeart FilmWorks and is best known for his first feature film, Wicked Spring (2001) which he wrote, directed and produced.[ citation needed ]
For television, Hershberger has directed several broadcast series including Legends & Lies , and Deadly Shootouts. [3] (REELZ Channel); Killer Kids ; Triggers: Weapons That Changed the World and America: Facts Vs Fiction. [4] In December 2014 Hershberger directed the Discovery Networks mini-series The American Revolution for which Kevin was nominated for "Outstanding Lighting Direction & Scenic Design". [5] at the 36th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. Also in 2014 Kevin was Co-Producer, Costume Designer and Historical Advisor for the Civil War feature film Field of Lost Shoes starring Tom Skerritt, Jason Isaacs and Lauren Holly He worked again as Producer, Costume Designer and Historical Advisor for the theatrical feature Josephine from writer and director Rory Feek. Hershberger has continued to direct and produce museum films as well as multi-part documentary series for world-wide TV and home entertainment release through Mill Creek Entertainment such as: Up From Slavery ; Emancipation Road; Carbon Leaf , Monsters Among Us ; Gangster Empire: Rise of the Mob; The Ultimate Civil War Series.; [6] NASA: A Journey Through Space.; [7] and Vietnam: 50 Years Remembered.

He served as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 3rd congressional district on Long Island for most of the 1980s. Peter Kellogg is a musical theater book writer and lyricist. He wrote the lyrics and the book for the 1992 production of the Broadway musical Anna Karenina, for which he received two 1993 Tony Award nominations, one for Best Book of a musical and one for the Best Original Score. He also wrote the lyrics and book for the musicals Chasing Nicolette, Desperate Measures, Lincoln In Love, Stunt Girl, Money Talks, and The Rivals which have been read and produced regionally. On June 3, 2018, Kellogg won the 2018 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Desperate Measures.

Wicked Spring is a 2002 American historical-based dramatic war film directed, produced, and written by Kevin Hershberger, as his first narrative feature film. The fictional portrayal is based on several actual events from the American Civil War, notably fictionalizing an event that took place in 1862 during the Battle of Crampton's Gap. The film focuses on a Harrison Bolding, a Confederate soldier in 1864 who, at night and with two other soldiers from his company, becomes lost while in conflict at the Battle of the Wilderness. The three meet and befriend a trio of Union soldiers that night, but don't realize it until the next morning when the six find themselves trapped between Union and Confederate defenses.
