Kevin Michael Kern (born May 18, 1974, in Ohio) [1] is a Broadway actor. He originated the role of J. M. Barrie on the 2016 National Tour of Finding Neverland . He has appeared in six Broadway shows and one show in London's West End. He is married to Megan Lawrence and they have four children named Gus, Sunny Jo, Magnolia, and Clover. [2]

His Broadway credits include Fiyero in Wicked as well as roles in The Wedding Singer , Finding Neverland , First Date , The Bridges of Madison County and Les Misérables . [3] [4] (In Les Mis, he played numerous roles, including Marius, Jean Prouvaire, Joly and Marius (understudy) with the "approximate dates: 1997 to 1999; 2001 to 2003 (not necessarily continuously)." Education

He is a cum laude graduate of New York University. [7] He has a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a "full scholarship and one year study - M.A. in Music Vocal Performance." [8] Prior to NYU, he was a 1992 graduate of St. Xavier High School (Cincinnati). [9]

Personal life

He married Megan Lawrence in June 1999. [10] They have four children. [11] His brother is actor and director Joey Kern. [12]

Finding Neverland is a musical with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy and a book by James Graham adapted from the 1998 play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee and its 2004 film version Finding Neverland. An early version of the musical made its world premiere at the Curve Theatre in Leicester in 2012 with a book by Allan Knee, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie. A reworked version with the current writing team made its world premiere in 2014 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
