Mark John Whipple is an American football coach, who most recently served as offensive coordinator at Nebraska in 2022. Whipple was the head football coach at University of New Haven from 1988 to 1993, Brown University from 1994 to 1997, and stints as the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), from 1998 to 2003 and 2014 to 2018. His 1998 UMass team won the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship. He was the quarterbacks coach for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) in 2011 and 2012. Before joining the Browns in January 2011, Whipple worked for two seasons as the offensive coordinator at the University of Miami. He previously coached in the NFL, working as a quarterback coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2004 to 2006 and as an offensive assistant coach with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007 and 2008. On January 14, 2014, Whipple returned to UMass as head coach.
The UMass Minutemen are the athletic teams that represent the University of Massachusetts Amherst; strictly speaking, the Minutemen nickname applies to men's teams and athletes only — women's teams and athletes are known as Minutewomen. He served as the head football coach at Plymouth State University from 1993 to 1995 and Northeastern University from 2000 to 2003. Brown was also the interim head baseball coach at Yale University in 1992, tallying a mark of 26–10.

The 2010 UMass Minutemen football team represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. The team was coached by Kevin Morris and played its home games at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium in Hadley, Massachusetts. The Minutemen played their road opener on September 18 against the Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium in a game that drew the largest crowd ever to attend a UMass football game. UMass also played their first game in program history at Gillette Stadium, their future home beginning in 2012, on October 23 in the Colonial Clash against New Hampshire. The team finished with a record of 6–5, 4–4 in CAA play.

He then served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Florida State Seminoles, Maryland Terrapins, Indiana Hoosiers, and Arkansas State Red Wolves.
Nicholas Barese is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the UMass Lowell River Hawks. Barese played college baseball at Saint Anselm College from 2005 to 2009 for coaches J. P. Pyne and Barry Rosen and in Saint Anselm College for two seasons from 2009 to 2010. He then served as the head coach of the Merrimack (2015–2021).
Liam Coen is an American football coach who is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Kentucky. He had also served in that role in the 2021 season. Coen was the offensive coordinator in 2022 for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). Before that, Coen served as an assistant coach at the University of Maine, UMass, University of Rhode Island, and Brown University.
Keith Dudzinski is an American college football coach and former player. He is the defensive coordinator at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), a position he held from 2004 to 2010 and resumed in 2022. Dudzinski served as the defensive coordinator at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2015.
Alexander Logue Miller is an American college football coach and former player. He most recently was the interim head coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, replacing Walt Bell, who was fired toward the end of the 2021 season. He was promoted from the position of offensive line coach, and had spent a decade on the coaching staff at the University of New Hampshire prior to arriving at UMass in 2021. He was replaced by Don Brown who was named head coach after he finished the season as defensive coordinator of the Arizona Wildcats.
Mark Robichaud is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 2007 until his retirement after the 2022 season; leading the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs football to a record of 70–81 in fifteen seasons. Robichaud previously was an assistant coach for Shepherd, where he helped lead the team to a record of 54–31 in that time span. During his time at Shepherd the team had eight winning seasons, five West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) championships, three NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs appearances, and two advances into the second round. At UMass Dartmouth, he led the team back to success by reaching the New England Bowl in 2021, and their first NCAA Division III Football Championship playoff appearance in twenty years in 2022. He finished second all-time in wins with the team.
