Kevin Sieff is an American journalist who became the Washington Post 's Latin America Correspondent in 2018. He was previously Africa bureau chief between 2014 and 2018. Before that, he was the paper's Kabul bureau chief for three years. [1]
He attended Brown University and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Previously, he was a reporter for the Financial Times based in Washington, D.C. [2] He has also written for The Guardian. [3]
In 2013, he was a finalist for the Livingston Award for "Field of Danger," which exposed the danger to civilians posed by a U.S. firing range in Afghanistan. [4] In 2016, he was a finalist for the Livingston Award for a series on the migrant route from Sub-Saharan Africa to Europe. [5]
Livingston is a town in and the county seat of Polk County, Texas, United States. With a population of 5,640 at the 2020 census, it is the largest city in Polk County. It is located approximately 46 miles (74 km) south of Lufkin and roughly 74 miles (119 km) northeast of Houston and was originally settled in 1835 as Springfield. Its name was changed in 1846 to Livingston, when it was designated as the county seat of Polk County.
Kevin Young is an American poet and the director of the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of African American History and Culture since 2021. Author of 11 books and editor of eight others, Young previously served as Director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library. A winner of a Guggenheim Fellowship as well as a finalist for the National Book Award for his 2003 collection Jelly Roll: A Blues, Young was Atticus Haygood Professor of English and Creative Writing at Emory University and curator of Emory's Raymond Danowski Poetry Library. In March 2017, Young was named poetry editor of The New Yorker.
