Kevinah Taaka Wanaha Wandera is a Ugandan politician who has previously served as the Member of Parliament for Busia Municipality, Busia District. [1] She was elected to that position under the flag of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in 2011 but lost in the 2016 general election to Geoffrey Macho of the NRM. [2] She also served as the shadow minister for Trade, Industry and Co-operatives from 2011 until 2016.

Janat Balunzi Mukwaya is a politician and former captain in the military of Uganda. She is the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. In the Cabinet reshuffle of 27 May 2011, he was dropped from the cabinet, before returning as State Minister for Industry. He also serves as the elected Member of Parliament representing Bungokho County South, Mbale District, having served continuously in that role since 1996.

Jenipher Kacha Namuyangu, also Jennifer Namuyangu Byakatonda, but commonly referred to as Jennifer Namuyangu, is a Ugandan politician and environmentalist. She is the Minister of State for Local Government in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She previously served as the Minister of State for Water Resources, from 1 June 2006 until 27 May 2011. In the Cabinet reshuffle on 27 May 2011, she was dropped from the cabinet and was replaced by Betty Bigombe. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Pallisa District Women's Representative, from 2001 until 2011. In 2010, Pallisa District was split into two, to create Kibuku District. Namuyangu contested for the parliamentary seat of "Kibuku County", Kibuku District. She lost to Saleh Kamba by a wide margin.

Esther Mayambala Kisaakye is a Ugandan judge. She is a Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda. She was appointed to that position in July 2009.

Rebecca Kadaga Ugandan politician

Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is a Ugandan lawyer and politician who has been Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda since 19 May 2011. She is the first woman to be elected Speaker in the history of the Parliament of Uganda. She succeeded Edward Ssekandi, who served as Speaker from 2001 to 2011. She is also the current Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kamuli District Women's Constituency, Busoga sub-region, a position she has held since 1989.

The Khayo is a sub tribe of the Luhya people of Kenya. They reside in Busia County, by the Kenya-Uganda border. Their Luhya neighbors are the Samia, Marachi, Wanga and Bukusu. The Bakhayo border the Bukusu on the East, the Republic of Uganda and Samias on the West, the Marachi on the South and the Wanga on the South East. On their north, they are bordered by the Iteso, a non-Luhya Nilotic people of Kenya.

Amelia Kyambadde Ugandan politician

Amelia Anne Kyambadde is a Ugandan politician. She is the current Cabinet Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in the Ugandan Cabinet. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. She has previously served as Cabinet Minister of Trade and Industry between 27 May 2011 and 6 June 2016. She replaced Kahinda Otafiire, who was appointed Minister for Justice. Amelia Kyambadde is also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for "Mawokota County North" in Mpigi District.

Barbara Nekesa Oundo is a Ugandan politician and diplomat, who serves as Uganda's High Commissioner to South Africa, based in Pretoria. In that capacity, she also represents her country, to the nations of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Samia tribe (Luhya)

Samia speaking people live in Western Kenya and Eastern Uganda. They are composed of several clans and their ancient economic activities include fishing in Lake Victoria and other rivers such as River Sio, crop farming (ovurimi), and animal farming (ovutuki).

Ida Erios Nantaba is a Ugandan politician. She is the State Minister in the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 15 August 2012 until 6 June 2016, she was Minister of State for Lands in the Cabinet of Uganda. Nantaba is also the elected Member of Parliament for Women in Kayunga District Constituency.

Kaabule Evelyn Naome Mpagi is a Ugandan human resource management consultant and politician. She is a former Member of Parliament, having served as the first Women's Representative for Luuka District in Uganda's 9th Parliament ,after the district was created by an act of parliament and became functional on 1 July 2010. She served in this role until 2016 when she was defeated by Esther Mbulakubuza Mbayo in the 2016 general election. Then a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), she served on three parliamentary committees during her time in Parliament: the Public Accounts Committee, the Committee on Social Services, and the Presidential Affairs Committee. Having been defeated by Mbayo in the NRM primary, she ran on an independent ticket in the 2016 election cycle.

Phillip Wafula Oguttu is a Ugandan journalist and politician. He is a former Leader of Opposition in the Ugandan Parliament. He was appointed to that position on 31 January 2014, replacing Nandala Mafabi, and held it until June 2016 when he handed over the position to Winnie Kiiza.

Julius Wandera Maganda, also Julius Maganda, is a Ugandan politician. He is the State Minister for East African Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016.

Harriet Ntabazi is a Ugandan politician. She was appointed State Minister for Industry in the Ugandan Cabinet on 6 June 2016. However, her appointment was rejected by the parliamentary appointments committee. She was therefore not sworn in with the rest of the cabinet on 22 June 2016. Between 2011 and 2016, she served as the Women's Representative for Bundibugyo in the Parliament of Uganda.
