Operation Car Wash,or Operation Jet Wash,was a landmark anti-corruption probe in Brazil. Beginning in March 2014 as the investigation of a small car wash in Brasília over money laundering,the proceedings uncovered a massive corruption scheme in the Brazilian federal government,particularly in state-owned enterprises. The probe was conducted through a joint task force of agents in the federal police,revenue collection agency,internal audit office and antitrust regulator. Evidence was collected and presented to the court system by a team of federal prosecutors led by Deltan Dallagnol,while the judge in charge of the operation was Sergio Moro. Eventually,other federal prosecutors and judges would go on to oversee related cases under their jurisdictions in various Brazilian states. The operation implicated leading businessmen,federal congressmen,senators,state governors,federal government ministers,and former presidents Collor,Temer and Lula. Companies and individuals accused of involvement have agreed to pay 25 billion reais in fines and restitution of embezzled public funds.
The Republic of Singapore is generally perceived as one of the least corrupt countries in the world. Cases are mostly handled by the Singapore Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB),a government agency in Singapore that investigates and prosecutes corruption in the public and private sectors. According to a Transparency International survey,an overwhelming majority of people in Singapore do not hear cases of corruption by public officials or institutions through media in their lifetime. In 2020,Singapore's public sector was ranked by Transparency International as the fourth least corrupt in the world and the most transparent in Asia.
Bongani Thomas Bongo is a South African politician and the former Minister of State Security,a position to which he was appointed on 17 October 2017 by President Jacob Zuma until he was relieved from the post on 28 February 2018 by President Cyril Ramaphosa. He was the only appointment that had not been a cabinet minister before. He served as President of the University of Limpopo's Alumni and Convocation Association between 2016 and 2022,and became its emiratus president soon after that. As the Minister of State Security,Bongo headed the State Security Agency of South Africa.
Refilwe Maria Tsipane,known as Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane,is a South African politician and a party member of the African National Congress (ANC),who has served as the 7th Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces since 2024. Prior to serving in parliament,she served as the 5th Premier of Mpumalanga between 2018 and 2024. She succeeded former Premier David Mabuza after he was appointed Deputy President of South Africa. Mtsweni-Tsipane was also a Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature and previously served as the MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

Busisiwe Paulina "Busi" Shiba is a South African politician who was the Mpumalanga MEC for Agriculture,Rural Development,Land and Environmental Affairs from 2022 to 2024. She previously served as the Mpumalanga MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs from 2021 to 2022,as the Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature from 2019 to 2021 and as the MEC for Social Development from 2016 to 2019. Shiba is a member of the African National Congress (ANC).
Vusumuzi Robert Shongwe is a South African politician who is currently serving in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. He formerly served in the Executive Council in Mpumalanga province. Between September and November 2015,Shongwe served as acting Premier of Mpumalanga while Premier David Mabuza was on sick leave. He is a member of the African National Congress and was formerly treasurer of the party's provincial executive committee in Mpumalanga,previously the chairperson of the ANC in the Gert Sibande region.
Leonah Lindiwe Ntshalintshali is a South African politician who has been Deputy Minister of Correctional Services and a member of the National Assembly of South Africa since July 2024,representing the African National Congress. She was previously Mpumalanga's Member of the Executive Council for Arts,Sports,Culture and Recreation from 2019 to 2021 before serving as the MEC for Social Development from 2021 until 2024. Ntshalintshali was Mayor of Witbank's Emalahleni Local Municipality from 2015 to 2018.

Makhosazane Christine Masilela is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature since 2019. She was appointed Speaker of the Provincial Legislature in March 2021. Masilela was appoinrted Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development and Tourism in June 2024.
