Madan Puri was an Indian actor of Hindi and Punjabi films. His brothers were actors Chaman Puri and Amrish Puri. As a character actor mainly in negative roles (villain), he acted in about 430 films in a career spanning above fifty years.
Majboor is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language suspense thriller film directed by Ravi Tandon and written by Salim-Javed. Released in India on 6 December 1974, the film stars an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Pran, Satyen Kappu, Iftekhar, Jagdish Raj, Farida Jalal and Sulochana Latkar. In the film, Ravi (Bachchan), a terminally ill man, frames himself for a murder that he did not commit, so that his family can receive the reward money. However, he is ultimately treated from his terminal illness and escapes from the police custody in order to prove his innocence.
Parvarish (transl. Upbringing) is a 1977 Hindi-language crime drama film directed by Manmohan Desai. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna as two brothers playing oneupmanship, because one brother believes he is adopted and not the real son. Shabana Azmi and Neetu Singh play the love interests. Amjad Khan and Kader Khan are the villains. Laxmikant Pyarelal gave the music to this film and Majrooh Sultanpuri the lyrics.

The plot of the film is based on Karna and Duryodhana’s friendship from the Mahabharata. This was one of the films where Amjad Khan plays a positive role. Nearly all of his other films with Amitabh Bachchan have had him playing a villain role.

Himmatwala is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film, produced by G. A. Sheshagiri Rao under the Padmalaya Studios banner, presented by Krishna and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. A remake of the Telugu film Ooruki Monagadu (1981), the film stars Jeetendra and Sridevi in lead roles. Himmatwala on release was a giant commercial success, grossing ₹5 crore, becoming one of the highest grossing Hindi films of 1980s. The film proved to be a breakthrough for Sridevi in Bollywood and launched her to stardom. Her dance number "Naino Mein Sapna" became a rage with Rediff stating that "the water pots may have dominated most frames in 'Naino Mein Sapna', but it was Sridevi's bejewelled outfits and headgears that stole the show".

The movie was among the last movies of Vinod Khanna before he took a hiatus from the Hindi film industry to join Rajneeshpuram in Oregon, USA.

Surendra was an Indian singer-actor of Hindi films. Known by his mononym, Surendra was born and educated in Punjab to be a lawyer by profession. He came to Bombay to become a singer on the recommendation of a Delhi distributor and his friends. He was "picked" by Mehboob Khan whom he met at Sagar Movietone, to sing and act in films as an alternative to the then Calcutta-based singer-actor, K. L. Saigal. Surendra started his career with his debut starring role in Deccan Queen (1936), directed by Mehboob Khan. He soon became a part of Sagar Movietone when his song "Birha Ki Aag Lagi More Man Mein" from the film became an "instant hit".
