Khulna Development Authority (KDA) is a governing body in Khulna City, Bangladesh. It was established by an ordinance of East Pakistan government called The Khulna Development Authority Ordinance, 1961. [1] It was established for better planning for Khulna city and its suburbs areas. [2]
Khulna Division is the second largest of the eight divisions of Bangladesh. It has an area of 22,285 km2 (8,604 sq mi) and a population of 17,416,645 at the 2022 Bangladesh census. Its headquarters and largest city is Khulna city in Khulna District.
Khulna is the third-largest city in Bangladesh, after Dhaka and Chittagong. It is the administrative centre of the Khulna District and the Khulna Division. It is the divisional centre of 10 districts of the division. Khulna is also the second largest port city of Bangladesh after Chittagong because of Port of Mongla. There is also a river port within the city named Port of Khulna. Khulna's economy is mainly marine, sea port and local industry based and it is the third-largest in Bangladesh, contributing $53 billion in gross regional domestic product and $95 billion in purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2020.
Karachi Development Authority (KDA) was established as the city-planning authority of Karachi in 1957, and replaced the earlier Karachi Improvement Trust (KIT). KDA, along with the Lyari Development Authority and Malir Development Authority, is responsible for the development of undeveloped lands around Karachi. KDA came under the control of Karachi's local government and mayor in 2001, but was later placed under direct control of the Government of Sindh in 2011. City-planning in Karachi, therefore, is devised at the provincial rather than local level.

Eastern Metropolitan Bypass is a 32 kilometres (20 mi) long six to eight-lane major bypass road on the east side of Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. VIP Road is a major thoroughfare connecting the city of Kolkata with Dumdum/Kolkata Airport. Located in the North-Eastern outskirts of the city, it was built in 1962 to provide speedy connection with the city and its sole airport. VIP Road is part of State Highway 3. To reduce traffic jams especially in the crossings of Kestopur and Baguiati, a flyover is constructed over the stretch between Dum Dum Park and Raghunathpur, which opened in March 2015. Another flyover connecting VIP Road with EM Bypass was opened in 2011, reducing traffic bottlenecks at Ultadanga crossing. This road is renamed after Kazi Nazrul Islam, a famous Bengali poet from India.
Rajabazar is a locality situated in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Geographically, it lies between CIT Road and APC Road, with the neighborhood developing around Narkeldanga Main Road, now renamed Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Sarani, which connects CIT Road and APC Road. Consequently, Rajabazar is positioned between Maniktala, Narkeldanga, and Sealdah.

Purbachal New Town Project or formerly Purbachal Residential Model Town is the biggest planned township in Bangladesh. The project area consists of about 6,213 acres (25.14 km2) land located in between the Shitalakshya and the Balu rivers at Rupganj thana of Narayanganj district and at Kaliganj thana of Gazipur district, in the northeastern side of Dhaka. The township is linked with a fourteen-lane expressway from the Airport Road-Progati Sarani intersection in Dhaka. The plan includes the provision of approximately 26,000 residential plots of various sizes and 62,000 apartments, complete with essential infrastructure and urban amenities.
Kollam Development Authority (KDA) was an autonomous statutory body overseeing the development of the City of Kollam in the state of Kerala, India. KDA was the responsible body for the planning and development of the major parts of Kollam urban area which consists of the City corporation of Kollam and its surrounding areas like Eravipuram, Sakthikulangara, Neendakara, Uliyakovil, Anchalumoodu, Kottiyam etc. KDA was one of the 5 significant city development authorities in Kerala which gained in significance because of the importance of the City of Kollam as the emerging 'Port City of Kerala'.

The Battle of Shiromoni was fought during the Bangladesh Liberation War and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 between the Pakistani Army and the joint forces of the Bangladesh and Indian Army. This was one of the last battles of the Bangladesh Liberation War which continued until 17 December 1971, even though the commander of all Pakistani Forces in Bangladesh had already surrendered on 16 December 1971.
