Kian Donkers (born 12 September 2004) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays for Eredivisie club NEC Nijmegen and the New Zealand national under-20 football team as a striker. [2]

Career

Cashmere Technical

Playing in 2022 for Cashmere Technical in New Zealand's Southern League Donkers scored 10 goals in 13 games. [3] He then had a goalscoring debut in the New Zealand National League on 1 October 2022, as Cashmere took the step up with a 4–0 win over Miramar Rangers AFC. [4] [5]

NEC Nijmegen

In January 2023 Donkers signed for NEC Nijmegen. Born in the Netherlands, Donkers has Dutch citizenship. [6] On 14 February 2023 he had a goalscoring debut for the NEC under-18 side against Almere City under-18s. [7]

International career

Donkers shared the golden boot with Oliver Colloty as New Zealand triumphed in the OFC Under-19 Championship in 2022, and qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Argentina in May 2023. [8] Donkers was subsequently named in the New Zealand squad for the tournament. [9]
