Kieran Galvin (born 5 May 1966) is an Irish-born Australian film director and screenwriter. [1] He wrote and directed four award-winning short films (The Burning Boy, Bad Ass Mono-Winged Angel, Contact, Other People), before he made his debut feature film (as writer and director), Puppy in 2005. Also in 2005 he was commissioned to write the thriller Feed for American film director Brett Leonard ( Virtuosity , Lawnmower Man , Man-Thing ). [2] He is an atheist. [3] In 2017, his first novel Five Monkeys; Gender Bending Suspense, Sex & Satire, was published by Double Five Books.

The Longford Lyell Award is a lifetime achievement award presented by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), a non-profit organisation whose aim is "to identify, award, promote and celebrate Australia's greatest achievements in film and television." Utopia is a 2013 documentary film written, produced and presented by John Pilger and directed by Pilger and Alan Lowery, that explores the experiences of Aboriginal Australians in modern Australia. The title is derived from the Aboriginal homeland community of Utopia, Northern Territory, one of the poorest and most desolate areas in Australia.
Raymond Charles Argall is best known as a cinematographer and director for both film and television. He has also worked as an editor. His multi-award-winning feature film Return Home (1990) is regarded by many critics as an Australian cinema classic. Argall served on the board of the Australian Directors Guild (ADG) for sixteen years, holding the position of president from 2006 to 2015 and secretary from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, Argall launched a business restoring archival films through his production company Piccolo Films. In 2018 the ADG presented him with its prestigious Cecil Holmes Award.
