Kill the Alarm is a rock band from New York City that is led by singer/songwriter Garen Gueyikian. [1]

Gueyikian had previously fronted the band Granian, a name he had also used for solo work until he adopted the new name Kill the Alarm in 2006. [2] They sold out a string of New York city shows including a show in early 2008 at the Bowery Ballroom. Additionally, the band played shows with Eve 6, Pat McGee, Cowboy Mouth, Pete Francis Heimbold (of Dispatch), [3] Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Nine Days, Stroke 9, Guster, O.A.R., and Keith Kane (of Vertical Horizon).

Their single "Fire Away" debuted on radio at #15 on FMQB Submodern Charts.[ citation needed ]

The band has been featured on CW11 TV's Artist Spotlight "On the Radar" in New York, and their songs have appeared on multiple TV shows including, Dawson’s Creek , Keeping up with the Kardashians, Real World, Road Rules, America's Psychic Challenge, Dr. Steve-O, and Whittaker Bay.[ citation needed ]

Kill the Alarm's debut album Fire Away was released in 2007 (and January 8, 2009 on iTunes) and was produced by Jon Kaplan (Gavin Degraw, Maroon 5, Ingrid Michaelson, Jet Lag Gemini).[ citation needed ] The album garnered comparisons to alternative rock bands from the 1990s, such as Eve 6, Cowboy Mouth, [1] Live, Better than Ezra, [4] and Matchbox 20. [5]

Kill The Alarm's popularity increased due to JamLegend, an online music rhythm game. Their song "Fire Away" is one of the top-played songs in the game worldwide.[ citation needed ]

In 2009, Gueyikian launched a Kickstarter project to fund a new EP. [6] Following sessions in Los Angeles and Nashville, [7] the EP was released in May 2011, with a CD release show at the Mercury Lounge in New York. [8]

The discography of Alkaline Trio, a Chicago-based punk rock band, consists of ten studio albums, three compilation albums, one split album, four EPs, one video album, sixteen singles, one demo, nine digital releases, and thirteen music videos. Alkaline Trio formed in 1996 with an initial lineup of Matt Skiba, Rob Doran (bass), and Glenn Porter (drums). This lineup released the band's demo tape and the 1997 single "Sundials" on Chicago record label Johann's Face Records, after which Doran left the band and was replaced by Dan Andriano. The group then signed to Asian Man Records and released their debut EP For Your Lungs Only and album Goddamnit in 1998. A second EP, I Lied My Face Off, followed in 1999 and resulted in their first music video, for the song "Goodbye Forever". In 2000 Asian Man released the band's second album, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, as well as the compilation album Alkaline Trio, collecting most of their previously released early material. In 2014, they reunited to release the EP Further Sky. The next album, Promise Everything, charted in 2016 in Australia, the UK and the US. Drive North was later re-released after the band was signed to record label Fueled by Ramen on October 13, 2016.
