The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), previously known as Muhajir Qaumi Movement, is a secular political party in Pakistan that was founded by Altaf Hussain in 1984. Currently the party is split between 2 main factions. MQM-London faction is controlled by Altaf Hussain from London, while MQM-Pakistan is run by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui based in Pakistan. Its electoral symbol was a kite.

Ever since its inception, the organization was raised on the model of the Royal Irish Constabulary to maintain law and order and law enforcement in Sindh, Pakistan. The department serves an area of ~140,914 km2., and has about ~128,500 police officers and staff to serve in the department. Ghulam Nabi Memon is the current Inspector-General, appointed in June 2022.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad is a codename of a combined military operation by the Pakistani military in support of local law enforcement agencies to disarm and eliminate the terrorist sleeper cells across all states of Pakistan, started on 22 February 2017. Imran Ismail is a Pakistani singer, dancer ,businessman and politician from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He served as the 33rd Governor of Sindh from 27 August 2018 to 18 April 2022. Before being appointed Governor of Sindh, he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh for a brief period in August 2018. He sang song Rok sako to rok lo and danced on it.
The 2019 Quetta bombing was a suicide bomb attack on an open marketplace in Quetta, Pakistan on 12 April, killing 21 people. The bombing took place near an area where many minority Shiite Muslims live. At least ten Hazara, including nine Shiites, were among the dead. Two paramilitary soldiers were also killed in the bombing. PM Imran Khan expressed condolences for the lives lost, directed the authorities to ensure the best medical treatment for the injured, and ordered an increase in security for Shiites and Hazara people. Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and ISIL later accepted responsibility for the attack, stating that "their target were Hazara people."

On 26 January 2022, members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement staged a sit-in protest in front of the Chief Minister's House in Karachi, Pakistan, against the Local Government Amendment Bill in Sindh. The police baton-charged and shelled protest demonstrators on violation of the Red Zone, killing a protestor and injuring several others.
Nazim Jokhio murder case is a high-profile murder case in Sindh, Pakistan. Jam Abdul Karim Bijar a member of the National assembly (MNA) from NA-236 (Malir-I) allegedly torched and murdered Nazim Sajawal Jokhio, in Salar Kot, Sindh on 3 November 2021.
