Crowded House are a rock band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in 1985. Its founding members were New Zealander Neil Finn and Australians Paul Hester (drums) and Nick Seymour (bass). Later band members included Finn's brother Tim who was in their former band together Split Enz, sons Liam and Elroy, as well as Americans Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod, with Neil Finn and Seymour being the sole constant members.

"Too Young for Promises" is a song written by Leon Berger and recorded by the Australian/New Zealand band Koo De Tah. It was released as the band's debut single in June 1985 and peaked at number 6 on the Australian Kent Music Report. The single was also released via the Mercury Record Label in South Africa and was immensely popular on radio and in clubs, but relegated to the HiNRG genre, hence failed to make a dent on the Springbok Singles Charts.

"Total Control" is a song by American new wave band the Motels. It was released in 1979 as the second single from their debut studio album Motels. The song failed to make an appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100, but reached number 9 on the Bubbling Under the Hot 100 chart in December 1979. It fared better in Australasia, peaking at number 7 in Australia and 11 in New Zealand. The song has been covered by American singer Tina Turner and Australian singer Missy Higgins.
