Kim Kwan-yong (born November 29,1942) has been the 29th,30th and 31th governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province,Republic of Korea. He is currently the 20th Executive Vice-President of the National Unification Advisory Council since 11 October 2022. He was also the mayor of Gumi from 1995 to 1997,serving again in 2006. He is a member of the Grand National Party.
He graduated from Daegu Teachers' School in 1961. He received his BS in Economics from Yeungnam University in 1969. He received an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Kumoh National Institute of Technology in 1998. He received a master's degree from the Graduate School in public administration of Yeungnam University in 2001.
From 1961 to 1967 Kim worked as an elementary school teacher in Gumi,Gyeongsangbuk-do. In 1989 he became Superintendent of Gumi Tax Office. From 1991 to 1993 he was an Administrative Officer(Secy) to the President for civil affairs. In 1995 he was elected Mayor of Gumi,serving until 1997,and then later again in 2006. In 1999 he was appointed Honorary Professor of Shenyang Industry University in China. On 1 July 2006 he became the 29th Governor of the Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do. In 2010 he was reelected as Gyeongsangbuk-do(North Gyeongsang Province) governor,with 75.4% of the vote. On 2 June 2010 he was reelected again. On 1 July 2010 he was sworn in as Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do at the Inauguration Ceremony of the EXPO Park in Gyeongju.

Yeungnam University is a private research university located in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang, South Korea. The university's predecessors, Taegu College and Chunggu College, were founded in Daegu in 1947 and 1950 respectively. In 1967, the two colleges were merged by President Park Chung Hee to form Yeungnam University. In 1972, the university's new main campus opened in Gyeongsan east of Daegu. After continuing to serve as a member of the assembly in the 16th and the 17th National Assemblies, he became the 4th Governor of Gyeonggi Province to be elected by popular vote in 2006.
Lee Eui-geun is the governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, a province in eastern South Korea. He is a member of the Hannara party. He has served three consecutive terms in the position, beginning in 1995. His name has been mentioned as a possible future candidate for prime minister.

Daegu-Gyeongbuk or Taegu-Kyŏngbuk is the compound word of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and indicates both administrative regions in South Korea. The region usually forms the similar political, economic, and cultural area. Daegu is an independent city from Gyeongsangbuk-do and has the same administrative status with its mother province. Both have their separate local governments reporting directly to the national government.

Kim Jae-Gang is a South Korean heavyweight freestyle wrestler. He won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2013 Asian Championships. Kim has a degree in physical education from the Yeungnam University. In 2014 he was named the Best Athlete of the Year by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council in Republic of Korea.
