Kimberley Davies (born 20 February 1973) is an Australian actress and model, known for playing Annalise Hartman on the Australian television soap opera Neighbours from 1993 until 1996. [1]
Davies was born in Ballarat, Victoria, where her father worked as a baker. She moved to Melbourne when she was 13 years old. [2] She was spotted by an agent from Chadwick Models while she was holidaying on the Gold Coast. Davies was offered a modelling contract, which she initially turned down. However, after completing a photoshoot for Mode, she signed with Chadwick and stopped her commerce studies at the University of Melbourne. [2]
Davies appeared in print and television campaigns for both national and international brands, including Myer, Mitsubishi and Cadbury. [2]
Davies wanted to be an actress and after securing an acting agent, she received an audition for Neighbours . [2] She was cast as hairdresser Annalise Hartman in 1992 when she was 19 years old. She was known to the cast and crew through her relationship with cast member Scott Michaelson (who played Brad Willis). Davies said she chose to do Neighbours because of its popularity around the world and the chance to gain more experience than modelling could offer. [3] Davies became popular in both Australia and the UK during her time in Neighbours. When she appeared on the cover of Inside Sport , it become the magazine's highest selling issue. Her calendar was the second highest seller for 1996. [2] In the UK, she also had her own clothing collection in Kays Catalogues and appeared in the Goldilocks pantomime. [2]
Davies made a number of cameos in the ABC comedy series Club Buggery , and after leaving Neighbours she hosted the Nine Network series Just Kidding!, which featured pranks played on an unsuspecting public. [4] She also had a small role in the feature film True Love and Chaos . [2]
Davies later moved to the United States and played the role of Laura Sinclair in the lavish but short-lived night-time soap opera Pacific Palisades . She also made guest appearances on Ally McBeal, Early Edition and Friends , and appeared in the films Psycho Beach Party , The Next Best Thing , The Shrink Is In , Made and South Pacific . In 2005, she returned to Neighbours for the show's twentieth anniversary. [5]
In May 2005, she appeared on an Australian reality television show called Celebrity Circus and in November 2005 she appeared in the fifth series of UK reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! but left halfway through after she hurt her shoulder, during one of the "Bush Tucker Trials". [6] In 2007, Davies was a contestant on Australia's Dancing with the Stars and in the summer of that year she appeared in a Daz advert in the UK. [7]
Davies voices Australian character Alura McCall in the 2002 videogame James Bond 007: Nightfire . [8]
In September 2010, she appeared in an episode of Australian comedy game show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation . [9] She also guested in the second season of comedy series Lowdown in 2012. [10]
Davies has been married to model-turned-orthopaedic surgeon Jason Harvey since 1997. They have three children and live in Melbourne, where Davies owns a decorating business. [11]
Davies studied drama at Monash University and has trained with acting coaches Janet Alhunty, Ivana Chubbuck and Lesly Kahn. She also studied interior design at RMIT University (RMIT). [12]

Anne Charleston is an Australian actress, notable for her career locally and in the United Kingdom in theatre and television. She began her career on the stage in the mid-1950s before moving onto the small screen in the early 1960s, appearing in various telefilms. Following parts in a range of series by Crawford Productions, Charleston became known for her work in the cult classic series Prisoner, where she played three different characters between 1979 and 1984. Kevin Rebecchi is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Anthony Engelman. He made his first appearance on 31 March 1994. Stonefish was the first of the Rebecchi family to appear and he was later followed by his mother, father and brothers. The character left in 1996, but returned briefly in 2003. In 2007, Engelman reprised his character again and Stonefish returned to Ramsay Street. He departed on 28 August 2007. The character then returned for brief guest stints from 2015 until 2018.
Sarah Beaumont is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Nicola Charles. Shortly after Charles moved to Australia, she was encouraged to try out for a part in the serial by a drama coach. The actress received the role of Sarah and made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 25 September 1996. In January 1999, it was announced that Charles had decided to quit Neighbours to move to London with her then fiancé. She filmed her final scenes in April 1999 and Sarah departed on-screen on 13 July 1999. Charles later appeared in the show's 20th anniversary episode, which was broadcast in July 2005. Charles reprised the role in 2012 and Sarah made a six-week return from 4 February 2013. She returned again from 5 April 2016.
Cheryl Stark is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, played by Caroline Gillmer. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 26 July 1993. Colette Mann took over the role for eight weeks from late 1995 to early 1996 when Gillmer fell ill. In September 1996, Gillmer departed the show and Cheryl was killed off.
Rosemary Daniels is a fictional character from the Australian Network Ten soap opera Neighbours, played by Joy Chambers. She made her first on-screen appearance on 20 February 1986 and appeared intermittently. Rosemary is the adoptive daughter of Helen Daniels and the sister of Anne Robinson. Rosemary was the first character to discover Jim Robinson's body, following his death. Rosemary has been portrayed as a tough businesswoman who runs the Daniels Corporation. Chambers reprised the role in 2005 and returned for several episodes to help celebrate the show's 20th anniversary. Rosemary returned in 2010 for four episodes to celebrate the 25th anniversary. She made the first of her appearances on 6 July 2010 and the last on 20 August 2010. Following Chambers' death, Rosemary was killed off-screen in 2024.
Mark Gottlieb is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, acted by Bruce Samazan. Samazan hoped the role would help him further his aspirations to become a popular Australian actor. He relocated from Sydney to Melbourne for filming and signed a six-month contract, which he then required to extend. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 13 August 1993. Mark was introduced as the brother of established regular Stephen Gottlieb. The role initially required Samazan to put on a French accent, which he based on his own father's. In order to distinguish Mark from his E Street character Max Simmons, Samazan got a Caesar cut and Mark had a trendy European wardrobe.
Sam Kratz is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Richard Grieve. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 13 June 1994. Grieve quit the serial two years later and Sam departed on 21 June 1996. Grieve reprised his role in April 2005 for Neighbours' 20th anniversary episode.
Marlene Kratz is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Moya O'Sullivan. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 5 July 1994. She was introduced as the estranged mother of Cheryl Stark. The pair often argued and Marlene constantly interferes in other people's business, but O'Sullivan believed Marlene meant well. She also described her as enormously caring, but Cheryl struggles to forgive Marlene for leaving her and her father. As she settles in, Marlene opens a bric-a-brac store and is often up for a scam or a bet. She also has a brief romance with Colin Taylor. The character was written out in mid-1997 and exited the serial on 14 October 1997, when she went on a three-month cruise and never returned. O'Sullivan reprised her role for the show's 20th anniversary episode, which was broadcast on 27 July 2005. Marlene revealed that she is still sailing the seas.
Danielle "Danni" Stark is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Eliza Szonert. She made her debut during the episode broadcast on 30 November 1993 and remained in the show until 13 November 1996, with a brief cameo in 2005 as part of the serial's twentieth anniversary. Danni is Cheryl Stark's daughter and suffered from diabetes. She had a complex, long-term relationship with Malcolm Kennedy.
Brett Stark is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Brett Blewitt. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 30 November 1993, along with his sister, Danni Stark, and remained as a regular in the show until 8 March 1996. Blewitt returned as Brett for five weeks after the death of his on-screen mother, Cheryl. He departed along with Danni on 13 November 1996 and made a further cameo appearance in 2005 during Annalise Hartman's documentary about Ramsay Street, as part of Neighbours twenty-fifth anniversary. Blewitt again reprised his role from 4 December 2023. During his period in the serial he was portrayed as a "geek", a word that defined the character throughout his casting, storylines and perception among other characters. He had close friendly relationships with older women, including Susan Kennedy and Helen Daniels; he developed a crush on the latter, which generated bad reception from some. He went on to have an affair with an older woman named Judy Bergeman. He is an animal lover and was the owner of Dahl, the Galah who resided with the Kennedy family until 2014.
Serendipity "Ren" Gottlieb is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, played by Raelee Hill. Hill was spotted by the serial's casting director in a café, while she was on a break from filming another show. She was told to audition for the role, as she looked exactly how the producers had imagined Serendipity to look. She made her first appearance during the episode broadcast on 25 August 1994. Serendipity was introduced as the sister of Mark Gottlieb. Having been raised in a hippy commune, Serendipity retains her beliefs and is a "real bohemian". She moves in with Mark after returning to Australia from Amsterdam, where she worked as a nanny. During her time in the show she becomes good friends with Sam Kratz and Annalise Hartman, is almost beaten up by her boyfriend, becomes a designer and gets engaged to Luke Handley. Hill left the show after her contract was not renewed and her final scenes aired on 7 September 1995.

Annalise Hartman is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Kimberley Davies. She made her debut during the episode broadcast on 15 January 1993 and departed on 31 January 1996. Davies reprised the role in July 2005. Annalise has often been portrayed as having a conniving persona. Her notable storylines have included a cancer scare, surviving a plane crash and being jilted at the altar on her wedding day. Joanna Evans is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Emma Harrison. Joanna was introduced as the younger half-sister of established character, Annalise Hartman. She made her first on screen appearance on 26 May 1995. Following Davies' departure from Neighbours in 1996, rumours began that Harrison's character would be written out of the show. However, the actress signed a new long-term contract with Neighbours a few months later. In February 1997, producers decided to write Joanna out of the show. A reporter for the Daily Mirror said Harrison was written out due to rows with the producers over her poor acting. Joanna departed on screen on 15 April 1997. In 2005, Harrison was invited to return to Neighbours for the 20th anniversary episode, but she did not appear.

The episode was written by Ben Marshall, directed by Jovita O'Shaughnessy, and executively produced by Ric Pellizzeri. It first aired on 27 July 2005 on Network Ten in Australia, as part of the soap's 20th anniversary. Planning for the episode began in March 2004, twelve months before the anniversary. Producers decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary on-screen in July, as winter ratings are usually higher.
