Concept
The story is based on the lives of eight women who get together in their social meeting ground called 'Kittie Party' every month to party and share their life moments with each other. The story goes through the lives of these eight women: Manju, Rewa, Vidya, Tina, Pixie, Niloufer, Kuku, and Natasha, and explores their individual lives through these meetings — their hopes, disappointments, aspirations, and longings. Each woman's character is reflected clearly through her interaction with others as well as through what she projects at these particular meetings.
The show brought the chic urban tribe of women and their sagas to the fore, with a progressive and often bold take on relationships.

Bade Dilwala is a 1983 Hindi-language action crime drama film directed by Bhappi Sonie and starring Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Pran, Aruna Irani, Madan Puri, Amjad Khan, Jagdeep and Sarika. The movie was a remake of Kati Patang with a gender change.
Khuddar is a 1994 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Iqbal Durrani and starring Govinda, Karishma Kapoor and Kader Khan. It is a remake of the Tamil film Walter Vetrivel, starring Sathyaraj. Other cast includes Shakti Kapoor, Shreeram Lagoo, Anjana Mumtaz, Raju Shrestha, Mahesh Anand, Vikas Anand, Navneet Nishaan and Anil Dhawan. The film includes the controversial number "Sexy Sexy Sexy Mujhe Log Bole", which was censored to "Baby Baby Baby Mujhe Log Bole". The song itself is inspired from Italian singer Sabrina Salerno's 1987 hit "Boys". The dialogues of this film became so popular that separate audio cassettes of the dialogues were released.
Suhaag is a 1994 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Kuku Kohli starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor and Nagma in lead roles. Suhaag was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 1994 and was the first film where actors Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar shared screen space. The duo went on to appear in Khakee (2004), Insan (2005) and in Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe films Sooryavanshi (2021) and Singham Again (2024).
Suraag – The Clue is an Indian television detective-crime drama series that aired on DD National from 14 June 1999 to 04 November 2002. The series, starring Sudesh Berry as CID Inspector Bharat Chattopadhyay in the main lead, was directed by Gautam Adhikari and produced by Shri Adhikari Brothers Limited. It used to air every Monday at 10 P.M.
Adaalat (transl. Court) is an Indian television courtroom drama anthology series about a defence attorney, K.D. Pathak, portrayed by Ronit Roy. The first season of the show premiered on Sony Entertainment Television on 20 November 2010 and ran for five years, ending on 11 July 2015. The show aired 431 episodes in its first season. Adaalat returned for its second season on Sony Entertainment Television on 4 June 2016 and ended on 4 September 2016. The show aired 26 episodes in its second season.
Sharara is a 1984 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Rajendra Singh Babu, starring Raaj Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini, Mithun Chakraborty, Tina Munim, Vijayendra Ghatge, Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor and Kader Khan. The playwright of the movie is senior story writer late H. V. Subba Rao. The plot of the movie was inspired by the 1980 political thriller novel The Second Lady by Irving Wallace.

Muskurahat (transl. Smile) is a 1992 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Priyadarshan, starring Jay Mehta, Revathi, Amrish Puri, Anil Dhawan, Sharat Saxena, Annu Kapoor and Jagdeep. It is a remake of Priyadarshan's own Malayalam film Kilukkam. It was initially supposed to star Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt.

Maya is a 1961 Bollywood film directed by D.D. Kashyap. The film stars Dev Anand and Mala Sinha along with Lalita Pawar in the main lead. This film Maya was made just a year before Asli-Naqli, but with a very similar story line. It was less successful in the box office compared to Asli-Naqli. But with the music of the film, composed by Maestro Salil Chowdhury and the songs penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri, the film was a big hit and was much liked.
Kanoon is an Indian television courtroom drama/crime series. The 111-episode Hindi series had its original run from 1993 to 1996 on DD Metro. It was produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his son Ravi Chopra. The music was composed by Ravi. Make-up for the series was done by Vimal Devkar. The concept of the story was given by Satish Bhatnagar, Sachin Bhowmik, Kulwant Jain and Hasan Kamal. Four seasons of the show were telecasted.
