Maya Alagh is an Indian television and film actress. [1]

Personal life

Maya is married to Sunil Alagh, who is a former managing director and CEO of Britannia Industries. [2] Their daughter Anjori Alagh is also an actress. [3] Maya started off her career as a model. She was noticed by actor, Dalip Tahil when she had gone to pick up her husband, Sunil Alagh. Dalip offered her an ad film, which she auditioned for. She was however rejected because she didn't 'look poor enough'. [4]

Maya made her television debut with the mystery-drama Chhoti Badi Baatein. It aired on Doordarshan TV (previously DD National) in the year 1986. The serial was based on the concept of superstitions. [4] [5]

<i>Satta</i> (2003 film) 2003 Indian film

Satta (transl.Power) is a 2003 Indian Hindi-language political drama film co-written and directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. It stars Raveena Tandon in the lead role and Atul Kulkarni, Govind Namdev and Sameer Dharmadhikari appear in the supporting roles. The film narrates the story of a persecuted wife of a greedy politician who takes on his role after he lands up in jail because of murder charges. Released on 7 February 2003, Satta received critical acclaim upon release and is considered one of the best performances of Tandon. The film was released on the same day as Khushi, Baaz: A Bird in Danger and Kash Aap Hamare Hote.
